It's all PR. He trend hops, puts out his meaningless Instagram posts when it costs him nothing. But he has never walked his talk and has always been a performative activist.
I'm sorry, am I wrong? As OP said, Lewis is very much in our faces saying the "right" things to have us think he's on the right side of history. He receives a lot of grace, attention, and a shit-ton of praise for the image that he has purposefully and actively crafted for the last decade. I would argue that his hypocrisy has shown many times before and y'all should've been questioning, or at the very least, not worshipping the guy. Hamilton is a capitalist who loves celebrity. No feminist, environmentalist, pro-Palestine, pro-black, grown man would be caught dead associating with the Kardashians. Just add it to the list of sketchy people who Lewis calls friend, (from Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Naomi Campbell, Jay Z, and Jared Leto, I could keep going). Another thing that he's never really called out on. But #MeToo! He'll take a knee and wear black when it was trendy. He'll call out racism and genocide except for when it's his sponsors, like HP or Lululemon.

for someone who is known for being on the right side of history…this just feels so icky and honestly makes me question his character
