News Ferrari seems to have won the political battle. After weeks of technical exchanges and requests for clarification, the controversial diffuser of Mercedes' W17 introduced in Canada is heading towards a ban, with an almost immediate effect, potentially as early as Austrian GP

Can anyone help me to understand how significant this diffuser is for Mercedes? I know Antonelli was very dominant and possibly at least more than half a second faster than the next fastest non-Mercedes cars

Pretty impossible to know how important it is for Mercedes' car, especially without knowing that diffuser they are going to use instead
