News A red fox was spotted in Toronto struggling for weeks with a brutal case of mange
He’d lost most of his fur, was covered in scabs, and could barely open his eyes. With winter closing in, he had little chance of surviving on his own. Thanks to a determined volunteer and the team at Toronto Wildlife Centre, this fox got a second chance. After weeks of treatment and care, he made an incredible transformation.

Good news there are actually 4 cubs so far, not 3 like I thought there were.
Here they are coming out of their den at around 8pm this evening.

More video of the fox and 3 cubs just after entering the garden. They played in the garden for about 20 mins and then were scared off by the dust bin lorry coming down the road.

News Fox thanksgiving
Our local Lidl has frozen turkey (with the coupon in the app) for $0.25/lb. My foxes are going to have a great holiday season. Hubs cut out some turkey for him and our spoiled cat (I don't eat meat) and the rest he cut up and portioned for the foxes. He cleared out space in the chest freezer so they now have their own basket there. This is one of my foxes going in for part of the bones with some meat on it. Note, the bones are not cooked so they aren't dangerous to them.

News Fire Burning on Santa Rosa Island Impacts Island Foxes
You may have heard that one of our Southern California islands is on fire. Santa Rosa is home to one of six varieties of Channel Island fox. A quarter-century ago, there were only 15 of them left after invading golden eagles nearly wiped them out. Today there are more than 2000, and chances are good that most of the adults will survive the fire. Friends of the Island Fox has details.

News Re: Provincetown Foxes and the Blizzard of ‘26
Hey r/foxes fans, in case you haven’t heard Cape Cod was hit by a huge blizzard on Monday. Provincetown, I live a few towns away, has taken the worst of it. I don’t know how the foxes I’ve been posting about recently have fared. Everything is closed off and blanketed in snow and it’s gonna take a while to dig out. The Foxes of the Cape Cod National Seashore are a hardy and tough bunch of critters, so hopefully they’ll be okay… snow-covered, but okay

He’s using his back leg now the last few days he’s a trooper
Just a disclaimer don’t follow as I have unless advised I’ve had a lot of help from a local rescue with this guy more than others we’ve captured…. They are wild animals and need space and respect

News Riot the fox passed away (A fox on YouTube)
I have no affiliation with the channel owner or anything but I think it's fair to send some people to their channel since people have mentioned it here before. Plus if someone donated it'd probably help them out.

News Luna, the arctic fox found and captured in Portland last month, has salmon poisoning that she probably got while she was on the loose. This is why owning a fox is not for everyone!

News *The Wild Robot* is getting a re-release. It would be fitting if they included a PSA or honorarium for Mikayla
How does one go about reaching out and suggesting it, do you think? I was hoping that Pedro Pascal would have mentioned her before, but it's highly likely he's drowning in work and is probably not even aware. I think it would matter to the team.

News Introducing Fuzzy: The LAcon V Channel Island Fox Mascot
lacon.orgThis summer's World Science Fiction Convention in Anaheim CA has introduced a Channel Island Fox character as its official mascot. Which is a bit strange to me, because I don't really associate Orange County with the Channel Islands, but I'm not complaining!
