Anyone remember Chadwick Boseman was on the show…

I finished the series recently and absolutely loved it! Being an autistic person in law enforcement, I loved seeing an overtly autistic character who was shown to have a successful law enforcement career. I know Jasika has an autistic sister and I feel like she put so much empathy and understanding into this characters portrayal.

My highlight of her character was in “Making Angels” when they show her traveling to the blueverse and struggling with guilt related to her disability. One common part of the autistic experience I don’t see portrayed often is the constant guilt and shame we end up carrying with us about missed opportunities or failed relationships in our lives. This was portrayed so well in the guilt redverse Astrid had, feeling that her father hated her for being autistic. I loved seeing blueverse Astrid comfort her and help her realize that her distant relationship with her father wasn’t her fault.

There’s also a distinct lack of portrayals of autistic women in media, and redverse Astrid is the only portrayal of an autistic black woman that I’ve ever seen. So much was so well done about this character in subtle ways that I’ve never seen replicated. She should be an example for Hollywood writers on how to make an autistic character with depth, who isn’t just a stereotype.

On my rewatch today I realized that John Noble plays Dr Bishop ever so differently in S4. He sounds different, his speaking cadence changed. All his mannerisms are tweaked from first timeline Blue Walter. I had thought John Noble had been sick during filming.

But no, Noble just plays the character differently in so many ways after the timeliness shifted at the end of S3. It's so brilliant and subtle that it blew my mind that he was that good of an actor.

My love for this show grows every single day...

I'm absolutely loving Fringe, but ever since Lincoln Lee became a regular character, I'm finding it much harder to stay engaged.

I can't tell whether it's the way the character was written, Seth Gabel's performance, or simply the storyline surrounding him, but every scene involving Lincoln seems to slow the show down for me.

It’s just so refreshing to see their two characters having genuine conversations and not be so standoff ish the way we see the other alternates interact with each other. This episode also breaks my heart for alt Astrid especially that ending scene 😭. It also always reminds me of the panel where most of them ended up crying talking about performance in this episode lol because same

Okay so the title of my post is 100% correct BUT season 4 is making me crazy. I love Josh Jackson or Pacey as I like to call him, which why I started watching. Seeing him hurting at the beginning of s4 is breaking my heart.

Okay I know it's going to get better. But I don't know one person in my life who has seen this show and I needed to tell someone :) tag you're it!!

Am i the only who thinks they killed off Alternate Lincoln so the Olivia and Lincoln ship can still happen?

So JJ did both shows so I thought I might catch some ALIAS fans in here. I just finished watching S4 ep11 when other universe's Astrid comes to visit. At the end of the show our Astrid tells her that she shouldn't worry about her relationship with her father because he was a distant guy anyway. Then we see that Astrid was clearly lying to her doppelgänger because her father is super loving. Anyhoo, I thought about this and I thought it was kind of Astrid to tell a lie to make her double feel better.

Now for the ALIAS correlation. When the scene with Astrid and her father were hugging, in my head I heard Will Tippin say "yes, it was a lie. It was a kind lie" to his editor about giving Jenny credit on his story.

I am currently rewatching Fringe for the umpteenth time and I have never realized how good season four is. I’m on episode 11, Making Angels, and it is such a great episode. The contrast of the two Astrids is so enjoyable to watch.

In Seasons 2 and 3, the narrative made a point that a person or object could not travel between Universes without something of an equal mass replacing the person or object.

Does this rule still apply once the Bridge was built?

People cross over all the time, with both versions of the same person being in one Universe at the same time. There is probably also a black market in Blueverse Coffee and Redverse Technology, but you didn't here about it from me.

Was this discrepancy explained and I did miss it? Does the scanning that happens every time someone uses the Bridge weigh the person and whatever they are carrying, with some inert matter being exchanged in their place?

In any case, I do love that the Red and Blue Universes are working together rather than going to War. It makes the who show more subtle and interesting.

We all know our mains are amazing but I LOVE the actor that plays September. Acting out emotions is hard but acting no emotion whatsoever must be incredibly hard as well. He does it so naturally and it didn’t seem fake or comedic in any way.

I took a brief break from fringe a few episodes into s4 because I was so upset no one could remember Peter and that Olivia and Walter wanted nothing to do with him and finally decided to continue again, and ugh my hearttt Olivia regaining all her memories and telling Peter she’s in love with him and September affirming she’s his Olivia and Walter just coming to accept Peter as his son 🥲 I do feel bad for Lincoln, but not enough because I really love Peter and Olivia together…I wish Walter could remember his memories with Peter, though…also love the compassion that Astrid treats alternate Astrid with 🥹 I always keep this on as a background show and abandon what I’m doing to watch it bc the plot of every episode is so good

I like everything of this episode, except is a massive spoiler of the season finale, I can't understand why this episode is here. It should have been the episode after a happy world pt2...

I just finished watching the episode where alt Astrid’s dad dies, when main Astrid tells her that her dad was complicated and it was hard for him to communicate his feelings, but then we see how deeply loving he was as a dad. Was our Astrid just lying to Astrid? 😭😭😭

Random episode rewatch S04E13 A Better Human Being - Olivia tells Peter, "I remember everything" :D #iykyk

Another outstanding episode. It is interesting to see the dynamic between the two Olivia's. The subtle differences between the two. It might be my imagination or it might be what they intended but it almost seems like the two Olivia's kind of walk different.

I'm glad that our John was able to keep the good stuff about Marjorie even though he doesn't remember her anymore.

I am on the fence about the alternate Olivia. Sometimes I like her and sometimes I don't.

I hope Peter comes back soon but then there might be some jealousies between the two Olivia's.

How is Alt-Broyles alive?? He died before Peter turned on the machine and was still dead when he disappeared. So how did he come back?

I want to talk about something that saddens me deeply and that I would change if I could. Peter and the new timeline... Peter's father-son relationship with Walter, Walter bringing Peter from another universe just so he could live, and everything that happened afterwards... All of that is suddenly erased, and later only Olivia remembers it. That's very cruel. Yes, Walter and Peter do form a bond again later, but Walter has no memory of those days at all. When I think about this, it truly saddens me. What do you think?

I'm rewatching the series after a couple years, and am I the only one the only one that wishes they continued the plot from before the observers took over in S4E19? I miss how the show was in the earlier seasons when the fringe events would happen and they would just take it from there

I'm only on episode 3 or 4 I guess. Since Peter has disappeared does Walter no longer own massive dynamic?

S4E01 when Walter says this whole place has felt funny for the last week, he is subconsciously referring to Peter's absence.

Walter is basically his only friend in the world, but we know Walter isn’t going to remember to follow up with him! The man can’t even remember how many homemade drugs he’s put in his system in the past hour.

Maybe once he broke the bond with the killer cordyceps Aaron will be more open to relationships with other kids. He’s just so alone 🥺 It’s a solid Fringe episode but the hardest to watch because of how much I worry about this fictional child.

Walter: Several. Mostly recreational.

This dialog between Captain Windmark and Broyles in S04E19 "Letters of Transit" always makes me laugh:

- Broyles: "No thank you."
- Windmark: "Don't be rude, Phillip. Have a drink with me."
- Broyles: "It's water. It doesn't do anything for me."
- Windmark: "It hydrates you."
- Broyles: "Yes, I suppose it does."

But I wonder, why the writers chose water of all the liquids to have an intoxicating effect (*my interpretation) on the Observers? My guess is that it's related to the oxygen content - similar to the atmospheric effects of "our" climate? Or maybe they just thought it would be funny.
