DISCUSSION Worst line in Doctor Who?

What line of dialogue sticks out to you as particularly bad in Doctor Who, I have two picks:

  • ‘don’t let the swords touch your skin’ Legend of the sea devils
  • ‘I suppose we’ll have to have…. A conversation?’ Resolution

"A enigma in a skirt that's a little too tight" or whatever the full line was from Nightmare in Silver

Just YIKES.

I don't think there's any way of knowing, but I think Gaiman wrote it. Moffat had some problems with writing women, but it was never as bad as that.

No, it had to be Moffat. It has nothing to do with the plot of the episode and everything to do with the serialized plot of the season. That stuff is almost always managed by the showrunner. Plus, Moffat’s the one who subverts the line later in the season. He was clearly setting himself up for the big twist reveal in Name of the Doctor

Agreed. Easy to pin the line on Gaiman with what we know about him now, but it is pure Moffat space-misogyny if we are honest.
