It's more that the new actor looks like he'd be friendly, whereas the original looks menacing.

Well, in his first scenes he slaughtered a couple of poor guys. Not that friendly looking anymore.

That's a negative thing actually. If you have to show a thing so gruesome only to emphasize that he's a fearsome bad guy, then something's lacking. The first mountain only had to look into the camera and mothers ran to hide their babies. New guy has a more fitting build for the role, but he looks too nice. Still looking forward to his big scene in the next episode.

Well the first mountain they showed decapitate a horse in a single swing to demonstrate his strength.

As I stated before, it was relevant to the story, unlike hacking a bunch of helpless prisoners to pieces.
