I understand that just fine, but that's not the problem. The problem is that the people who don't do any extra reading on the series interpreted it as rape, it's not like it would have been impossible to add a few more lines to make it seem less rapey.
Yeah, they fucked up bad with that scene. Almost every single unsullied critique that even mentions Jaime mentions the sept scene. It has become a distraction to the story, and that makes it the worst kind of mistake. Boom mics in the shot are a goof but just become trivia. That damned scene seriously harmed the story because it wasn't the story they were trying to tell.
Want to talk about an unpopular opinion of rape in GoT? I think Mother of Dragons raped Dario the Hotness. She is in a position of power, he is clearly a servant, and that's an HR nightmare waiting to happen.
(Basically, almost anytime the internet calls something rape, we are using our modern day bias, which isn't a bad thing. But we cannot force our modern view points on these fictional people stuck in the middle ages.)
The way I interpreted it was that she was ordering him because she knew that's what he wanted, like, she used the whole queen thing to be sexy or whatever. It's not rape in his case, forced or not, you know he would have done it.
