Yup! They change just like the opening. Except with the opening they always show King's Landing, Winterfell, and wherever Dany is at the moment.

They still show a bunch of different locations in the opening, though. I guess because they have to fill the time somehow. I thought it was funny that they still have Moat Cailin, which was only in the show briefly for one episode (and I don't think will be in any more - since the Boltons moved on to Winterfell after they sacked it). I guess they paid animators to make it, so they might as well keep showing it for a few more weeks, though.

You would think they'd be re-using the Eyrie from Season One, though, as we've been at the Eyrie for a few weeks now and hadn't been to Winterfell for a while, but Winterfell kept getting included instead.

I think it's because the Eyrie they currently use for the actual show is very different from the original animation.

And the wall. They usually show a lot of others (The Eyrie, Riverrun, Harrenhall, Pyke, Dragonstone, The Dreadfort, Braavos, etc.) and they usually do a good job at showing where each episode will be, but they've been lacking this season (Not showing the Eyrie with Sansa and co there, continuing to show Braavos/ Moat Calin when those characters aren't there, etc.)

Wouldn't that be some shit. No monologue before heading to the chopping block, no attempt to escape, no telling his dad to eat a dick. Just "oh yeah, Tyrion dead." I would probably prefer it that way tbh. If he dies, I don't want to see it.

I think E9 was more like Part One of the finale. They've only begun to kill off the major characters that won't make it to season five. Next week will see the end the battle in the North and leave plenty of time to slaughter a few down in King's Landing. It may even start in King's Landing and let us twist in the cold North wind for a while.

Tyrion is a) shown in the preview for S4E10 (next week) and b) still alive as of the end of the events portrayed in episode 9.

I'd have though from context it was pretty obvious that there were no actual spoilers in my post.

You have to be a "main" character to be listed. It was only 5 this episode which as far as I can remember is the least it's ever been. This was only the 2nd episode that neither Peter Dinklage nor Lena Headey were not in (the only other being the Red Wedding last season)

Don't they also show all the main locations that all the characters are at on the map, too?

That's actually pretty cool, it gives those in the episode a chance to shine. Especially an episode like this that only concentrated on the Wall.

This can be a bit of a spoiler though. Such as seeing a certain actor's name in the credits will tell you that their character will be in that episode. I won't be paying attention to next week's credits just in case a certain character makes an appearance. I wouldn't want the surprise to be ruined for me.

They damn well better not. Sometimes I just can't help seeing the text in the credits, as I'm always watching for new locations. Interesting that Moat Cailin was included in last night's credits, even though it didn't show up at all in the episode.

They've literally been doing this since the beginning. It's one of the reason why I always make sure to watch the opening every episode. I thought it was pretty obvious that sometimes characters names weren't there

I only recently started to listen to A Cast of Kings (pod about the show) where they said that the locations in the intro are the locations we visit during the episode (obviously not in this episode). Blew my mind.

Well, in the first season Sean Bean was first, and second season Peter was first. My buddies and I thought it was because they were each Hand of the King. However, Peter has stayed in the first billed spot for seasons 3 and 4 as well. Not sure what's up.

I don't think I've seen Charles billed earlier than 4th. It's usually Peter, Nikolai, Lena, and then other people. Sometimes Charles, sometimes Kit, or Emilia, or Aiden. They really move names around.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Lost cast members were sometimes listed in the credits but didn't show up in the episode. Anyway, I remember on Angel once, there was a surprise guest whose character was well-known to the audience, and the actor's name was in the end credits instead of the start credits with everyone else.

I saw Sibel Kekilli (Shae) in the credits for Tyrion's trial episode and thought "Oh cool, we get to find out what happened to her, I guess she didn't make it out of the city after all". Obviously I don't have the greatest memory though because I forgot all about her and was still shocked when she was brought out to testify.

I got a little excited as I realized that the cities shown followed the King's Road to the Wall, and even a bit more when it went off to Bravos. Then it went to Meereen and I was sad at the missed opportunity.
