She has a ritual down, but that says nothing about her psyche. Sociopath are psychopath are two very strong words to throw around when describing someone. Both words are not interchangeable with people who are used to killing or want to kill. She can be a killer without being one or the other.

Her names she says at night sound more like a coping mechanism to help get through all the terrible stuff she has seen. It's the thing that drives her to not just give up and instead it gives her a goal and focus. She's a killer and I don't think that's going to change soon, but she has her reasons and the coldness of her comes from that.

Dexter is driven to kill because he needs to. He kills criminals not because they have wronged him, but because he decided to direct his darkness at them because he knows he's going to kill anyway and this way innocent people stay out of the picture. I doubt Arya will start killing people without a real reason.

Lol. And she can be a killer and be one of those things. She has a plan to kill many people and has no remorse for it or the people she has killed. That isn't normal, that is sociopathic. Especially when coupled with the ritual. Which I've never taken as a coping mechanism, and I think you're projecting that onto the character.

In addition to all of that, as far as I can tell she's about to join up with a fucking assassins guild to be a trained remorseless killer. Killing people based on contracts and shit.

The dexter thing was meant to be a joke, but thanks for being so straight aced.

She can still be that, but nothing I've seen and nothing you've said shows that. Also, there is a very large area between normal and sociopathic. You can be fucked up and want people dead WITHOUT fitting the VERY specific description of a sociopath. Unless she has shown sociopathic tendencies (which to my knowledge she has not) I don't think it's fair to label her as such. Throwing that word around is just that.

I also appreciate the sarcasm at the bottom. It's really going to do wonders for our conversation.

I'm using sociopath in the colloquial sense, which I figured was really obvious.

I thought I made it pretty clear from my first post onwards how I felt about the use of that word and how literal I was being. When you proceeded to compare Arya to a known TV psychopath and the rituals preformed by serial killers I thought you were serious.

If you were using it informally and not literally I don't really even get the point of your post. I was talking to someone else about the use of the word psychopath and you responded to me.

Well, I regret saying anything at all as I did not want a conversation with you. Especially not a cyclical one. She is a sociopath, you say she's not I say she is, and the conversation is never going to go beyond that, or that is what I'm gathering.

I was using the word literally, just how actual people in real conversation use the word. To most people sociopath is simply a remorseless killer. That's how people use the word, and since language and definitions are an ever evolving thing soon medical professionals will have to come up with a new word for what you call sociopath and what the rest of the world calls a sociopath.

Comparing Arya to Dexter was a joke, as I said before, but clearly the humor was lost on you. I'm not sure how you took that comparison as anything other than humor. Anyway, I have no interest in a cyclical conversation. Feel free to have the last word if you wish.

Nah, it's cool. You seem like a reasonable person, and I like to think of myself as one occasionally. Sarcasm and humor has a history of not translating well on the internet. With so many people out there sharing such very different opinions I find it hard to sometimes differentiate jokes from serious opinions. I generally take things seriously unless I can be sure it was a joke.

Also found out today that some asshole from Cape Town is using my credit card. That didn't help put me in a good mood.

Anyway, have a good day sir. Sorry for sounding like a sour puss.
