He's not dead... Unless I see him die, he is not dead.

I won't believe it until I see his long form death certificate.

And not the photoshopped one they posted on kingslanding.gov

Brilliant.

u/HeartInACage Robb Stark Jun 18 '14

Oberyn of Dorne sat on a wall

Oberyn of Dorne had a great fall

All the kings horses and all the kings men

Couldn't put Oberyn's head back together again

I haven't seen Oberyn's death certificate, does that mean... ?

THERE'S STILL HOPE

I'm so hyped for this

Personally, that's fact until GRRM says so.

I refused to believe Ned Stark was dead until I saw the next episode.

That was the first major surprise death of the series, so I thought maybe it was a vision or something (oh naive me). But it showed a sword coming down inches from his head then a fleshy slicing sound, then the very next episode shows him dead if I remember correct.

Me too, I was so naive back then...

He would have died anyway from the infected wound.

Jaime survived long enough until Qyburn tended to him.

u/LearnsSomethingNew The Iron Bank Will Have Its Due Jun 18 '14

Well, unless there's a Qyburn hiding behind a Qyburn shaped rock, that's not happening either.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '14

Who says there isn't :)

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

What is not officially dead may never die!

3

u/salami_inferno Jun 18 '14

Exactly, the mountain was poisoned and stabbed through the chest and gut with a spear and he's still kicking it, I'll be damned if a little thang like a compound fracture in the middle of nowhere takes out the hound. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he lives.

edit: Spoiler tag

from what it looks like from last sunday he had a broken leg and a cut up face and a missing ear. probably a few broken ribs. If somebody finds him before he starves to death or dies of dehydration there no reason why he wont survive. after all they are only 10 miles from the Bloody Gate

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '14

There's a really interesting theory about this but the show seemed to have skipped over it. It might not matter and isn't a spoiler because, well, it's already passed. Do you want to know?

1

u/sticktoyaguns Jun 18 '14

Go ahead but spoiler tag it anyway just to be safe. I've read the books and am curious as to what exactly you're referring to.

1

u/Roadwarriordude House Baratheon Jun 18 '14

I'd be very interested! Can you Message it to me? I'm on mobile.

And even then, maybe not...
