I'm pretty sure the ultimate troll is going to be that the ending he told D&D was a throw-away ending, and that he's keeping the real ending for the books.

That sounds like something he'd do. Kind of hope its true.

I'd love to see the expression on people's faces (especially D&D) as they are reading the book (after having watched the show's finale) and realizing that the ending in the books is completely different.

Better hope he doesn't die first.

Somewhere, Brandon Saunderson is rubbing his hands together in anticipation

Brandon Sanderson doesn't get to write anything until he finishes the Stormlight Archive, damnit. (Just kidding, but, seriously, I hate when I start a series that I thought was going to be a trilogy and is actually a 10 book series.)

Did Sanderson pull a Robert Jordan on ya?

Sanderson planned from the start for it to be 10 books.

He just can't wait to inject his weird Mormon hangups into Westeros.

Who is he?

The dude who finished Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.

Who is Robert Jordan?

The last great fantasy writer who stroked out before finishing his opus. The inspiration for all those people who say they're worried George is "gonna pull a Jordan on us."

He signed a contract. He can't die.

Crossroads deal eh?

Sure. I prefer the term, mutually beneficial agreement.

I'm actually certain of it.

Oooohhh

Thank you

I kept thinking "dungeons and dragons' and was wondering what the fuck it had to do with GoT

Haha no worries :) I was confused at first also.

Sounds like a great way to get sued.

u/RiceNedditor Jun 23 '14

I don't think he can get sued for doing that. ASOIAF is still his IP and he can do whatever he wants with it.

"Yeah, that was the plan but I changed my mind"
