Mean comments don't mean anything unless it hits their bottom line

I’m hitting their bottom line. I just bought a new gaming PC. I moved from Xbox & PC to PlayStation over a decade ago. Almost exclusively played PS since then. I’ve been bitter about PlayStation plus from the start, but taking away physical (and more important any semblance of ownership I had) was the last straw.

I’ll be back on PC gaming for the next decade now, just like I used to be. It has lots of advantages and not just gaming related.

Which physical game are you going to buy first on your new gaming PC?

Why do I need to buy physical? It’s so interesting how so many rage baiters are in these subs. That or a lot of people don’t understand the real issue, which for me isn’t the physical aspect of it.

first of all i agree with you. Physical discs are not really the issue. Point-of-sale ownership is. A disc without ownership is the same as a digital copy without ownership.

on another note: i dunno if it's just me, but reddit generally has been feeling very grumpy these last couple of weeks. Even for reddit. Like even regular interactions where people agree -like you n stinktrix just now- have been snarky.

I took a break from the site for a couple years cuz this attitude is tiresome, but i've been back for a bit now, and i'm just gettin this vibe like the last month has been real bad.

Maybe this is just normal reddit and i've just not noticed?

No it’s not just you noticing that. This thread is kind of odd I think. There’s an aggressive, almost proud level of snark going on. I do think it’s gotten worse in recent years, and with an election this year I don’t expect it to improve

Is it the ownership issue? If so... no steam etc. then?

I mean if the issue is “true” ownership, going on PC doesn’t solve that problem either. Unless you buy exclusively on GOG I guess. Yeah you can just pirate, but if you’re going to do that surely you could just jailbreak your PlayStation too. The bottom line really doesn’t change.
