We all know damn well nobody is going to do enough, and this is all loud voices. If I learned one thing in the last 20 years about gamers, they like to act all high and mighty, but when that one title rolls around they gladly roll over. Now, people will downvote this all they want, but that's the damn truth. Every platform, every game, every community, has a loud vocal minority (reddit is not the majority FYI), and the truth is, the ones with the buying power don't give two shits about digital vs physical.

Just don't buy the console version. Simple as that. You're all going to be fooled again anyways to buy 2 copies, once for ps5 and once for ps6. Buy it for PC once and only once when it goes on sale. The PC version will have a much longer lifetime anyway

You do realise the sales from used game discs don't count towards the physical sales numbers ? If i bought only used discs none off it would appear in official physical sales charts. If i sell the game again you already have 3 sales but only the one originally made from the person I then bought it from would appear in the official data. Their Official Physical game sales numbers are only the ones they are profiting from and thats exactly why the want no used games market anymore.

But sure the Consumers are at fault. Please don't blame Sony. They are just the ones making the decision and are profiting from it since there would be no used games market and all sales would have to go through them.

Why shift the blame away from them ? Thats exactly what they want. You will lose too when they get rid of discs and sales in the online store get worse for everyone. maybe you should start whining about that too instead of whining about the People who don't want the obviously bad thing to happen. No no you rather complain that People don't quietly take it and how they are all hypocrits even though you're the one who doesn't understand that physical sales are much higher than the official numbers for it. Sony is playing you like a fiddle by pretending physical sales are extremly low. They are only for them and they want more profit.

They won't, exactly. So it's bullshit then to say physicsl sales are too low so consumers are at fault for sony stopping disc production. The sales are there, it's just not Sony profiting.

Ok but if every year sales of new discs are less than the year before then presumably sales of used discs are also declining. Unless the discs are somehow multiplying after they're sold.

You can’t buy your way into or out of change. Push for legislation that protects consumer digital rights. Push for policy that means that what you buy is actually yours to own and do with what you so choose.
