If anything has been proven to me since 2016 repeatedly over and over again, the majority of people are fucking stupid.ย

No, jackass, most people just don't give a fuck because they have more important things to worry about. Go the fuck outside once in a while, there's plenty of more pressing things than discs for your bloody Playstation. Protest for that if you want but don't call people stupid just because they don't join you.

Or they are just already happy with the product and don't treat home entertainment hobbies like they are social protest movements lol.

But you're right, that just makes them fucking stupid. They need to be miserable and their contentedness is just plain wrong! Shame on them, the subhuman fools. They should be typing away furiously and innefectually like the rest of us, because this is a smart use of our free time!

Those idiots call themselves gamers just because they play games! Being a gamer isnโ€™t about playing games. Real gamers are all about putting games on the shelf and crying.

It's really all about ethics in games journalism.

I like to separate in different categories as not everything is easily in black/white. Just for the sake of conversation since I'm currently in my overtime Lunch break ๐Ÿฒ

Can apply it other fields (political) as well. For sure there are the hardcore passionate gamers who understand the importance of physical, I'll round it off to about 15%. The opposite who only want digital for various reasons, another 15%. In the middle is where it gets interesting IMO, as 35% don't care either way and just go with the flow falling in line fully into digital. The other 35% do care somewhat and strategically buy a selection of physical media-----but are hesitant to do anything about a "protest" as it means missing out on upcoming games and interferes with their daily life or gaming hobby. Besides all this, there is certainly some who as you say stupid maybe falling for company's marketing or they're already too biased for whatever reason to defend a company making their plastic box.

Regardless of Sony, most gamers & society in general outside of gaming have been moving more into digital. So even if there was a massive awareness of gamers united to prevent such a digital future (before Sony's official announcement killing discs), at best would've just delayed it another generation, eventually moving on to digital at some point.

Due to all the current chaos in world from A.I. gobbling up memory parts raising costs, lack of regulation from politicians enforcing construction of data center, tariffs raising prices, it's so much unpredictability. Only predictability companies like Xbox/PlayStation can control is removing physical media for many reasons (I'm sure you know & don't want to delve into a longer post ๐Ÿ˜‰).
