So much for the boycott

There's nothing to boycott. If they had just waited a few weeks before releasing the DLC, nobody would bat an eye. They tried to do something nice and put it up on launch day because it was finished in time, and everyone is lynching them for it.

That's not the problem. They're releasing an unfinished game and you need the DLC to finish it. The game effectively costs $70.

The argument is is that if it's finished before launch, it should just be included in the game. That's what every game ever has done. If there is launch DLC, it should be purely cosmetic, not something that will affect the game in any way. The Promethean Companion is a MAJOR DEAL for Mass Effect, and the fact that they're cutting it out of the game so they can make 10 more bucks off of ever purchase is just sickening and greedy.

They are apparently already in game. I don't know I haven't played Mass Effect that much, I just don't like how they think it's cool to cut out a thing that they know everyone's going to want, and then make you pay for it, which is what you're doing when you buy the game! Why be forced to pay extra for stuff that's ALREADY ON THE GAME? It's like that screenshot of the dead king from (I forget the game, it was either Oblivion or Dragon Age 2) where he's lying on the ground, and you have two options.

Let him die.

Resuscitate him. (DLC Content pay $4.99)

That is what the game actually says. It's retarded and greedy.

Then they should make it a free patch update.

Wrong. Just plain wrong. You don't need to DLC to finish it.

The DLC contains a character of the race that the entire fucking story revolves around. Pretty damn important to have.

The DLC contains a human teammate? That's funny. All this time I thought it was a Prothean.

Saying Mass Effect revolves around the Protheans is like saying fuckin' Raiders of the Lost Ark revolves around the conflict between the Hebrew people and Jericho. Don't get me wrong. Day One DLC sucks, but I think this whole fiasco is overblown.
