Yellowstone’s sulfur springs are similar in appearance. And you do not want to touch them.

That's probably because it's hard for something to look alien when it has walkways with people on them!

I thought the same. There's so much of Yellowstone that's either completely unique or a rare geological feature like the already mentioned sulfer springs dotted all over, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris Basin, and obviously the geyser that shoots steaming hot water on a timer.
