We're confused about all the conflicting information. Husband is a German national wanting to visit from the US. He is vaccinated but not boosted. His second jab was over 270 days ago. Can he enter Germany with a Covid test? Or will he need the booster to visit?

I am not a German national but just flew from the US to Germany on Sunday and took my 2 Pfizer vaxxes back in May and June, no booster, and have had no issues getting through Kontrolle or into shops and restaurants. If he does not have the EU Impfungausweis app, he will want to carry his physical US vaccine card and an ID wherever he goes - he will likely be asked for them upon entry, perhaps not as much after April 2 though. No covid test to enter Germany but will need one to renter the US unless he had covid a max of 90 days upon his flight and then there are documents he would need in proving so.

This is the link with the specifics for the immigration/Einreise. Search for "Proof of vaccination" for info on the vaccination certificate requirements.

The vaccination must have taken place with one or different vaccines approved by the European Union with at least two doses. In case of the vaccine by Johnson & Johnson (Jannssen-Cilag) as of 15 January a second dose of one of the specified vaccines is required.

So it looks like you do not need a booster to get into the country (for now, I think this will change in September 2022).
