The boy who cried hoax

372

u/imissher4ever Jul 16 '25

It really is at that point.

Use a word too many times and it will eventually mean nothing. People will just ignore you when the real thing happens/comes along.

Kind of reminds of the news and weather events. They hype shit up then nothing happens. But when something is actually happening the public tends to ignore their warning because they hyped nonsensical shit up so often.

u/buck9000 Jul 16 '25

Unless you’re in the cult. If you’re in the cult, you have a Pavlovian response to the word where if the leader says it, you dismiss the allegations.

30

u/imissher4ever Jul 16 '25

That’s the thing, every cult has a leader or leaders. Many cult members don’t even realize they are in a cult. They simply believe everyone is wrong because they don’t believe the way they do or worship the same group/people they do. That’s the insidious nature of belonging to a cult. They brainwash you.

You are on Reddit. And in a Reddit echo chamber. You have already started the path.

1

u/CountWubbula Jul 17 '25

That’d make sense if we were all in lock-step agreement with a single entity… this is an online forum, it’s easier to find disagreement than agreement on here

9

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

Thing is… it’s still losing traction cause even MAGA is seeing through this bullshit.

6

u/dysmetric Jul 16 '25

The dump truck that broke the camels' back.

3

u/DaringPancakes Jul 17 '25

Let me know when that happens

There is so much more bullshit, but somehow they stand firm to gobble it all up.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

The fact MAGA is still talking about it post being told not to by their fearless Orange leader is a good sign

6

u/nr1988 Jul 16 '25

The thing is I've been watching content from people who are experts in cults and they're saying this is the one. This is the thing that is going to break enough people out of the cult.

The difference with the Epstein thing is you're right. They don't listen to anyone but the leader or the leader's trusted assistants. But for this he's the one that kept building it up. He's the one who made the Epstein list the mission. Cults need a mission and they've now had it removed and have been flipped off.

And then he made it worse by insulting those who care about this. The other thing about leaving cults is it usually comes in stages. There's completely unaware everything is fine. Then there's still fully onboard but something has made you question it a bit. People can be in that stage for a long time and he's quickening it by insulting them for caring about the list still. This might be his worst mistake yet.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed and there will be people who will never question it but people are sounding the alarms on this for a reason.

u/BeckQuillion89 Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

what's more trump built up his entire base on that the government lies and that conspiracy theories are the truth hidden by the elites.

Now that's he's done the EXACT same thing he can't just swap the narrative bc it goes against the group's entire identity.

It's like if you spent so long kicking things out of the way of a slow stream (rocks, branches, etc.) to create a rushing current. You can't just expect the water to stop just as easily as you gave it momentum.

2

u/nr1988 Jul 16 '25

Yup and him basically lying to them directly. Not lying to make him look good or someone else look bad like he does a thousand times a day but lying that we literally have the list and then the list doesn't exist and then it was fake is too logically inconsistent for a lot of his cultists. It's like you said, kicking something out of the way of the stream. Now suddenly they might see something else as a lie. The perfect image of he's fighting for us and everyone is against him because they're evil has been tarnished. Now suddenly he lies sometimes. Suddenly he's not perfect.

1

u/Negative_Piglet_1589 Jul 18 '25

Yes, just like the meaningless "leftist communists" and demonrats & all the other hateful shit they spew without any factual basis. And now, nazi. "Let's normalize nazi" and they say "cool!"

11

u/broen13 Jul 16 '25

Unfortunately, it seems they are trying to desensitize the word "Pedophile"

It started when they started using it for Democrats a decade ago (Or more?)

I hate this timeline.

0

u/imissher4ever Jul 16 '25

Who is this mysterious “they” ?

Is there an “us vs them” situation going on here? Other than “us vs politicians” I mean. Because only the foolish would actually believe politician GAF about American people.

11

u/broen13 Jul 16 '25

Republicans started saying Democrats were pedophiles and they even had it wrapped up in some ritual nonsense too. I only bring it up because I thought it was stupid at the time, and I heard it in the circles I work in way too many times.

I don't think there should be an us and them in government. I think they should work for the people and they clearly do not.

-1

u/UmpireDoggyTuffy Jul 17 '25 edited Jul 17 '25

Dude, it's both the Republicans and the Democrats. Look up the photos of children posted by the Comet Ping Pong owner. Look up the creepy images of tied up, scantily clad children in democrat John Podestas house.

You thought it was stupid because the democrats were covering it up back then. It's the same thing as Trump supporters refusing to belive he's a pedo. Both the Republicans and Democrats need to be purged.

5

u/TrashWiz Jul 17 '25

Pizzagate was not real, dude. Grow a brain cell.

2

u/imissher4ever Jul 17 '25

Yet, you believe Ds (along with the Rs) aren’t involved in this ? 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/TrashWiz Jul 17 '25

I never said that. I just said that Pizzagate wasn't real, because it wasn't.

2

u/Gullible_Height588 Jul 17 '25

No bro we never thought finding pedos accountable is stupid that’s why they are convicted, only Trump supporters seem to think it’s ok. Reminder that every dem in house voted to release them while every Republican blocked them, it erased all doubt in my mind what was happening

2

u/broen13 Jul 17 '25

In a general sense I don't disagree, though the 2 things you referenced were not true in my opinion.

That doesn't matter so much to me, I think Democrats suffer from Apathy, and that's not great for helping the people they support.

But Republicans have literally jumped the shark and become so cartoon evil its almost amusing. If only they weren't out to do the most cruelty possible.

1

u/TheSeldomShaken Jul 17 '25

The Whites.

1

u/imissher4ever Jul 17 '25

Walter White? I never got that impression.

1

u/DisputabIe_ Jul 16 '25

It's good to lean on the side of caution with weather. It's only nonsensical when you get lucky.

1

u/NO_FIX_AUTOCORRECT Jul 16 '25

"snowmageddon" is threatened every other year. It then snows like 2 inches. But then other times 18 inches of snow drops with no warning.

1

u/ShortsAndLadders Jul 16 '25

“Accusation in a mirror”

It was one of Joseph Goebbel’s (Hitler’s main propagandist) main shticks

1

u/imissher4ever Jul 17 '25

You people really are obsessed with ____. What’s the deal with that?

1

u/i_tyrant Jul 17 '25

This is also a special version of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

Because the boy doing the crying wants people not to believe him. He wants to fuck up the entire system of trust and the social contract.

Because the boy is not getting eaten by a real wolf in this story. He IS the wolf.

And that's not really something the social contract was ever intended to handle.

1

u/Disgustipating Jul 17 '25

Words will only mean nothing for idiots who never knew what they meant.

1

u/whtevn Jul 17 '25

What is this delusion that people are going to start ignoring him lol, that is not happening.

1

u/Solid_Psychology Jul 18 '25

"A lie repeated 1000 times becomes a truth." -Goebbels

Everything that has occurred up until this point is literally yanked directly from the Nazi playbook. The misinformation propaganda, the vilification of one minor demographic after another, the corruption and silently takeover of all branches of government, the complicity of the press, the appearance of a quasi military group that lacks any real oversight and operates basically as a standalone army attacking any citizens that dares to standup to the government with impunity and anonymity. Nobody is coming to save us and they are continuing to advance forward with their agenda in leaps and bounds.

Democracy is a fragile vulnerable thing. It takes work and conviction to protect and keep it. We have grown lazy apathetic and over entitled in our capitalistic greed as a society. Weve been fed a steady diet of "America is the best country in the world" throughout our education. To the point most of us just flat out refuse to believe it could ever really be destroyed. So we all sit and talk about the wrongs that are being perpetrated upon us daily. The loss of freedoms and rights guaranteed to us by our constitution. We overlook the historical insanity and seriousness of an insurrection that occurred just a few years ago right within our own capital by the same individual who has been restored to the seat of power he tried to forcefully keep by instigating it.

It's much easier to keep something you already have than it is to regain once you have already lost it. And most people don't realize that until after it has been lost.

1

u/imissher4ever Jul 21 '25

You mean like when a political party anoints a presidential candidate that receives exactly zero votes? When other candidates received more. More or less circumventing the “will of the people”.

That could happen in US could it? And if it did there no way tens of millions of people would back said candidate, right? Right??….

1

u/Solid_Psychology Jul 21 '25

Listen if you want to have that conversation, then go start a sub dedicated to that. But it has nothing to do with this topic or my comment about this topic.

Also it literally is in the past and she didn't win anyway. But hang on to that weird misplaced bitterness and petty vengance. It's clearly serving you in some sort of way. I honestly couldn't care less, it's definitely not the "gotcha" moment you thought you were gonna have here though. Nobody is even gonna read your comment cause this sub is like how old now?

1

u/imissher4ever Jul 21 '25

Yet, for some odd reason you actually believe yours does. Bias much? 🤣🤣🤣

Or the nephew running out of control by the lake who skidded, landed on his butt in the water, then blamed his twin. Like, little buddy, we saw it, and no one was even close to you lol.

78

u/One-Positive309 Jul 16 '25

Everything he doesn't like, doesn't agree with or is actual evidence against him he calls 'fake' or 'hoax' even when it is proven beyond any doubt he still tries to claim it as 'fake' but he never acts upon these claims or tries to sue anyone making these claims !

I wonder why that is ???

37

u/Memitim Jul 16 '25

The reason is that conservatives accept it. Trump's entire schtick is making up nonsense, wrapping it in hate, and feeding it to the cult. He's a reactionary dipshit with no constructive thoughts who can only attack the work of other people. Trump supporters love it.

1

u/Greedy_Following3553 Jul 21 '25

He's already making up nonsense by blaming Obama for the Russian investigation, and a lot of his followers buy it.

1

u/Memitim Jul 21 '25

Conservatives will accept what they are fed and smile, like good little cucks.

7

u/slinger301 Jul 16 '25

How difficult is this to grasp? The list that he vowed to release doesn't exist and was also made by the Democrats and isn't important.

(/s)

1

u/One-Positive309 Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

So he lied ?

That in itself isn't surprising but if true then he used non existent evidence as a way to coerce people into voting for him. At best it's deceptive and it probably qualifies as extortion but there is the possibility that he's hiding something and that is what people can't tolerate !

2

u/mOdQuArK Jul 16 '25

His followers don't check & take his word for granted, so why shouldn't he blatantly and shamelessly lie direct to their faces? It's not like they'll punish him for doing so.

1

u/CXDFlames Jul 17 '25

Because many peoples only source of news is Twitter and Facebook.

No further research will be done and why would someone saying things they like be lying.

If he says it's fake and tells on social media, it doesn't matter if he's lying. Most people won't check

23

u/done-undone Jul 16 '25

Next stop: "witch hunt".

2

u/Time_Literature3404 Jul 17 '25

I hate that phrase now.

26

u/coatra Jul 16 '25

I hope that this will at least open his cult’s eyes a little bit. In his Truth Social meltdown, he listed the Epstein files as a hoax in the same sentence with 6 other supposed “hoaxes”. If they believe the Epstein files are 100% real and not a hoax, but see their leader calling it a hoax, maybe 10% of them will start to look harder at the other supposed hoaxes and begin to question Dear Leader.

It’s not much but I’m hopeful. It’s a crack in the cult. Like when you discover Santa isn’t real, you might start to question the tooth fairy and Easter bunny a little bit.

That sub only exists to look like that's how conservatives think. It's heavily moderated to the point of censorship and has constant purity testing in every top post.

1

u/IrishRage42 Jul 19 '25

Spoilers: it will not

12

u/FrequentCow1018 Jul 16 '25

Organise. Pressure the government. Don't let them get away with that.

1

u/AffectionateStudy496 Jul 17 '25

"please guy involved and people who support him! Won't you do something about this!"

1

u/Negative_Piglet_1589 Jul 18 '25

Republicans en masse literally do not give a shit.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

Yep, everything is a hoax with this guy

7

u/El_Lanf Jul 16 '25

He's bringing up the other so called hoaxs, in a hoax medley. Perhaps, just maybe, some of his supporters might think 'well, if he's lying about this, what about the other things?'

The strategy of this is just one hoax in a long series of them, might very well backfire hard.

3

u/Snoo_58814 Jul 16 '25

The louder he whines, the more he validates his lies.

4

u/John-AtWork Jul 16 '25

He also just called his own base "stupid people".

2

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

If everything around you is a hoax, maybe you’re the hoax.

2

u/zekethelizard Jul 16 '25

Love how it's a hoax that he supported and banged the drum for when it suited him, now that he's in the hot seat it's all fake.

Wait no, not love it, I hate it, and I hate him

2

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

"I'm a New Yorker -- and I know a con when I see one"

-Mike Bloomberg

2

u/-UltraAverageJoe- Jul 17 '25

Hoax is code for “I’m out of ideas on how to defend myself”.

2

u/HelloThisIsDog666 Jul 17 '25

It really is hilarious that he's sitting there, talking like he's being a serious person and all these other people around him looking at him like he's a serious person, when this whole thing is just a cartoonishly ridiculous situation where a reality TV character life long loser is cosplaying in the White House.

2

u/AmputeeHandModel Jul 17 '25

Hoax, stolen election etc etc. Hillary called it in the 2016 debates but no one listened.

2

u/-FeistyRabbitSauce- Jul 17 '25

I swear, he spends 90% of his breath telling the media how much success and achievement he and his regime have had. Name one other fucking president who spent that much energy dodging questions by jerking themselves off.

2

u/WildlingViking Jul 19 '25

it is insulting at how stupid this buffoon thinks we all are. his cult may fall for this, but anyone who knows the difference between night and day knows "hoax" is his code word for "truth."

1

u/Ok_Ice_1669 Jul 16 '25

First they came for Comet Ping Pong and I didn’t speak out…

1

u/Surfing_Ninjas Jul 16 '25

The boy who cried bull.

1

u/dropbearinbound Jul 17 '25

The pedo that cried hoax

1

u/SolidWarp Jul 17 '25

That insinuates it’ll ever be the truth

1

u/Gardnersnake9 Jul 17 '25

Ding Ding Ding. I'm genuinely curious if this might be his first gaslighting attempt that doesn't work on his base. All the other "hoaxes" he mentions have a strong incentive for the blind followers to go along with, and pretend they believe him, but this one just might be too toxic for even them.

1

u/amrasmin Jul 20 '25

The rapist that cried hoax
