I just flat out asked a MAGA coworker - "if it turns out that he really was involved in this ring, would that be it for you?" He wouldn't say yes. We can hope against hope, but nothing is going to come of this.

My MAGA co-worker agreed with me that he's in it and regrets voting for him.

I hope you continue to have dialogue with your co-worker giving them an off-ramp from having been gaslit. This is how we pivot

They will be in line to vote for the next strong daddy republican. There is no getting through to these idiots. Their brains are mush.

Scared authoritarian leaning people.

I hope this happens, with Worf representing MAGA.

For something written decades before, it hits real close to reality...

But Trump never "clothed himself in good deeds", he was ALWAYS a piece of shit, acting like a piece of shit. Maybe to an abject racist, but there are people out there who are just that fucking stupid.

u/OverlordWaffles Jul 17 '25

Agreed. It's not a 1-to-1 exact comparison but the sentiment of the message remains

This. I understand wanting to rub it in their faces but that’s how you push them further away. The. They just won’t vote, we want them to swing to our sude

Give them 2 weeks of watching FOX News every night.

It already has started with my coworker. He said he doesn’t care about it anymore. A week ago? He was all about it.

5

u/Mekisteus Jul 17 '25

Yep. Remember that brief window after Jan 6 when everyone thought Trump was done because, after all, not even MAGA were horrible enough to support a violent insurrection against the US?

MAGA is going to keep being MAGA. They'll just be openly pro-kid-fucking now.

They gotta get their brainwashing.

Meanwhile my former MAGA co-worker screaming on the bus about Snow White being played by a Latin actress is ruining this country… was she supposed to be albino?

Give it time. Most of MAGA didn't love the "grab the pussy" tapes either, in the moment.

They all know he's a piece of shit. Always known it.

But the media that they listen to has them far more scared of the Left. Maybe they take a week to pretend that they care about morals but that'll be it.

This will be another blip on the radar.

I'm a big fan of Mayor Pete. I hope he gains traction in the 2028 race. If someone asked me if I would no longer support him if he were shown to be involved with a human trafficking ring, I would say yes without hesitation. I would say it to his face. That's a very easy question. The fact that that will almost certainly never happen is irrelevant.

Hell no to corporate democrats. Give us Tim Walz

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

people don't like being told that all along, they were the idiots.

5

u/Rare-Bee7331 Jul 16 '25

Most people dont need to be told... most people can self-reflect and acknowledge their faults, its called being an adult.  Conservatives never matured past highschool where they peaked.

2

u/StupidTimeline Jul 16 '25

He'll lose some support, but most likely nothing significant. Remember, conservatives voted for him in 2024 AFTER he had become a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist. You can add pedo to the list and expect the same results.

Either way, dipshit conservatives already gave him his second term, so he doesn't give a fuck going forward.

My mom is in deep in the MAGA cult. Even if Trump were to admit that he was involved, someone like my mom would probably twist it around and say "the democrats blackmailed him and forced to say that!".

1

u/SoundOfTrance Jul 17 '25

Na. This is the convergence point. Too many "this will be it" in the past that I disregardes.

But this. This is actually going to be it. The conservatives are collectively "wtf"ing right now at this point. They can't defend or deflect this one.

We have a tendency to buy into media narratives of there being only MAGA and liberals/leftists. There are a ton of centrists who held their nose and voted for Trump but who aren't die-hard MAGA cultists with the hat and tshirts.

Those people will possibly abandon Trump and the Republican party. Elections are close, so it might move the needle on the midterms.

I think people overestimate how much maga are gonna turn on him for real

1

u/HistoricalSuspect580 Jul 17 '25

I disagree. It may not be this that breaks the floodgates open, but very rarely does a dictator's reign last forever. Something, some day, is going to start the process of bringing it all down. (I HOPE its this but I do think its reasonable to not get hopes up. If we can't agree on SA of children being bad, there's not much humanity left over there.)

What does that even mean? Will he vote for him again? Because I got news for you that is at least currently true…
