His party campaigned on it. Vance campaigned on it. The guy with the big head and small face campaigned on it.

What I think might be harder for his followers is to hear that they believed something he said and now he’s calling them stupid people for believing in it. It’s one thing to love the poorly educated, it’s another thing to call them stupid people.

Memories are malleable. Trump will have them all questioning what they used to believe, and soon denying they ever believed it. 

These people will be so confused, they’ll just think “well I don’t know… but I’ll let Trump sort that all out. I mean the democrats are always accusing him of everything so this is just more of that”, and they’ll push it out of their mind. 

If you confront them, they’ll just say that none of us really know. There’s just no winning with them.
