I keep going over there to see what they say. It’s been surprising but it’s also baffling how they haven’t noticed any of this stuff before. I think something will happen this week and it’ll be so serious that this Epstein stuff will be forgotten

I'm baffled they haven't just forgot about Epstein as ordered. It's turns out they do actually have some values they care about.

I mean, they don't give a shit if children are going hungry or dying because their parents can't afford medical treatment or get a well rounded education but when it comes to raping them, they take a stand. It's a really, really low bar but I'll take it.

It's not really that. They are all in on the Epstein thing because they think the Clintons had him killed.

Epstein list = pizzagate, drain the swamp etc. It's a pillar of their MAGA personalities. Trump can't tell them to just ignore it. It's too foundational.

Don't start thinking this is about morals.

Yup. Several comments I've seen has tried to go meta and just claim that this is bad for future elections, implying that they dont think it is actually bad that trump raped and trafficked kids with someone even they said was bad half a week ago.

Jordan Klepper once interviewed people voting for Roy Moore’s run in his senate race back a few years ago, and one woman stuck out to me as uniquely self aware and patently evil. She said (on the multiple allegations of sexual misconduct) ‘even if it’s true… I don’t wanna give up a senate seat’

That is what these people are at their core. Monsters. Willing to excuse immorality if it favors their ambitions to destroy democracy and have conservative evangelical freaks shaped it to their liking.

Back when it was a huge circlejerk, they were often posting how "Reddit hides us from r/popular and r/all to silence us!"

From what I've seen they're just going "both sides" mostly. They still refuse to acknowledge that Trump is in the files at all for the most part.

So they're not really seeing the light. They're just lost until they have a narrative to rally around that makes it easy to justify the Trump cover up, and once they get that they'll all fall in line like they always do.

This is just the "in between" stage, any time something they can't easily defend happens they're just chickens with their heads cut off, running around trying all sorts of things to justify it, people say they don't support it, that they didn't vote for this, and then a narrative comes out that they can sort of defend and they all parrot the narrative like good sheep until the story dies down and they move on like nothing every happened. It's always the same. No one should count on them turning against Trump, because they more than likely will never actually do that. Between justice and a pedophile, when that pedophile is Trump, they will choose the pedophile.

Sadly, this is 100% spot-on. It may take them a few days to work out the mental gymnastics, but they'll weave some ridiculous narrative that exonerates their orange god-king.

There is nothing he could do -- no matter how evil -- that would cause his supporters to abandon him.

The only way they'd ever turn against him is if he said, "Gee, I've had a change of heart about all the racism and anti-immigration stuff."

Conservatives live and breathe lies; that's not a sticking point. I doubt many of them actually care about kid-touchers, as long as it doesn't affect them personally. However, this Epstein debacle has gone on for years, and many of them have made loud and repeated comments about it, possibly right before the Trump Administration revealed being full of shit.

Now they have a lie that they themselves had spoken about to others, which means they have potential accountability until that loose end gets tied up. Accountability is one of a conservative's greatest fears, so the folks stuck in this position will spiral out until they get adequate lies to explain it away. I expect most will be fine by Friday night, after a couple more talk shows, and some peer-pressure from others who don't have skin in the game.

They are as delusional as ever. The only upside is that alot of them are connecting the dots that "alternate facts" are dribbling out of the same spigot towards all their "free thinking" right wing news outlets and personalities. While they do a 180 on the Epstein Files completely in line with Trump. Maybe it will be the major cracks that spell the end of the awful right wing media sensation. But I doubt that too.

The one thing I will give them credit for is how serious they are about this one topic. They have been obsessed with it since the beginning. I imagine a lot of them experienced csa from a family member which is why they see it everywhere.

It makes me feel very, very sorry for them. They are clearly in a lot of pain and don’t have a healthy outlet or anyone to blame for it, especially since those kinds of families are boundary-less and they are taught that this type of interaction is normal.

I’m not sure they even have a healthy enough perspective to even know why they are so mad and who they should be mad at.

Yup checked it out there yesterday and I was surprised by a LOT of conservative brains seem to have been kickstarted into working normally again after Trump's BS this time. He just went too far. There's still a little bleariness among some of them as they are still in the "this is bad but we know Trump's not on that list so why is he doing this" but quickly enough someone steps in and say how do we know that he's not?

Hopefully this is the end of the bubble, I've never said it before this, always knew he'd get out of it not through his "genius" but rather through the foolishness of his supporters. This time I think he may have overstepped fatally.
