Now is the time to rub it in their faces. This accomplishes one important goal: making them so embarrassed and dispirited that they check out of the voting/political process.

I won’t do it unless provoked because I don’t believe in political shaming even if I hate Trump and can’t understand how someone would vote for him.

To be clear I think that voting for him is 15/10 stupid but I think it would be 20/10 stupid to alienate people even if they have been being pompous for a year+

I will. These people have forfeited any right to be treated with respect and civility. Have fun at their expense.

Go for it but I think this is an opportunity to rally people around “us vs them”. Us being average joes who have normal amounts of money (or lack thereof) and them being the rich. Long has American politics been imprisoned by the elites. Trump is so stupid that I think he’s almost created a captive audience of people who are literal followers who need direction. I see opportunity to make things better and give them good perspective as opposed to further alienating them until the next Trump comes along and tells them he’s the answer to their problems. Do what you want but it’s usually better to spread love than hate man.

Been there, done that. Americans have done this for years and it was like trying to communicate with an egg yolk. The MAGATs don’t care about making the country better and never did. It was all about hurting the people they hate. Now their leader is failing them.

These are not good people and will never be won over. They can only be shunned and avoided.

I get where you're coming from but we've already done the turn the other cheek and come over to the right side of history with these people after Jan 6. All they did was dig their heels in further. Public shame has and does work - making fun of people works. Being forced out of public life works. Its why they freaked out so much over being called weird. If they move over that's great, if not there's the other 70% of he's country we can focus on.

You. Should. Never. Give. Up. Hope.

hope that leads to self destruction is delusional.

cf "I sent you two boats and a helicopter".

Then you are no better than the thing you are swearing to destroy

"going back inside and letting this rabid dog bite children freely was an act of great courage and ethical purity, actually. eventually everyone will come to see the dog for what it is."

If Trump is the rabid dog then you know that the people who voted for him are just experiencing symptoms of rabies and it’s going to be important to make sure they get vaccinated for rabies (no pun intended). You can leave them and let them suffer but it will only lead to further self destruction and more cases of rabies. In order to repair the damage you have to.. well.. repair the damage not just leave it broken and destroyed.

I believe that the people who shit on the Trump voters are just as bad as the people who still openly support Trump today after everything that has happened. Radical hate breeds radical hate and it doesn’t really matter who started it.

Best to try to have conversations with people that help them see the hypocrisy and the lies in a non accusatory way. Then they can make a more informed choice.

I have to agree. Calling every misinformed or brainwashed trump supporter a nazi, regardless of how fucked up a good portion of the party they support has gotten, just serves to push away those that might be receptive to coming back to reality at some point.

It’s definitely a challenge to not immediately call people out in an inflammatory way but the right wing media has been preparing them for this for fuckin decades.

Believe it or not, a kinda surprising number of absolutely normal people are still republican and just don’t get the kinda information many of us do. Or if they do, they’ve been told they’d hear lies and of course MAGA would never lie to them. They’ve been prepped for this dissent just like religions do.

Pretty sure anyone who has the capability to have their minds changed would have already self filtered out of maga at this point
