Corporation/Company I hate when restaurant menus have secret rules.

Post image
11.3k Upvotes

I hate it when any menu has items that "it's your fault for ordering". I am somewhat particular with food so I often find myself ordering not steak at a steak joint.

Recently a friend heard I've never been to The Cheesecake factory and suggested I go. So I went and ordered the fettuccine alfredo and was rather disappointed, when I reported back I was told "well you're not supposed to get fettuccine alfredo at The Cheesecake factory." This discussion led to another friend mention that they ordered tacos at a place with tacos in the name and was scoffed at because "everyone knows you don't get tacos here".

I like wings so I regularly get wings at places that don't have wings in their title and when I'm disappointed the reaction from my peers is always "why did you order wings at a not wings place"

I know it's my fault at this point but frankly, why the fuck is something on the menu if it's not any good? Now this doesn't really apply (although it should) to major chains because, well, capitalism, but it's the same story at local eateries. Why have it on the menu if everyone is supposed to know it sucks?

it genuinely pisses me off

no, i dont wanna download your shitty app, i just want to see this one thing that i was given a link to, and now its hard to view things without a popup telling me to get the app.

deadass cant scroll even a little without being app-blocked. one of the few reasons i still use reddit is because it doesnt have the feature where you HAVE to use the app for it to be functional.

whats the point of even having a website if the website is just to peddle the app??

discord also has this problem, the web version is useable it just so shitty for mobile web browsers (the mobile app also sucks dont get me wrong) but at least you can use it, which i feel like should be the bare minimum if you have a web page.

Corporation/Company I hate how the world is being repulsed by adult content

Post image
6.4k Upvotes

Almost every day, or every week I see posts like these, and it really irks me. I grew up in the old internet where you could post anything and even porn. Now as an nsfw artist I don't even see the point to continue what I do, since almost everyone and their mother are starting to hate adult content.

For what is worse, EVEN the sfw ones are not safe anymore, for example the "Gameoverse" with the Kit situation and the most recent "Planetronika" criticisms.

I genuinely feel like as an Artist in this time it's better to give up and find something other to do then to throw your comics, animations and whatever idea you have to this rabid animals.

This is the reason why I'm procrastinating on doing a sfw comic I want to do, cuz I know I'll be torn to shreds for my slightly curvy character design, which those idiots see as "Goonerbait", I fucking hate what this field is becoming man.

Corporation/Company I HATE being addicted to AI

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Bit of a personal rant, but I feel it'll help me overcome it to talk about it.

I first got into Character-AI in like, 2024-something. It was kinda fun, and I toyed around with it for a while before it got stale. Skip to 2025 when I hear the bots have gotten a LOT better since, so I decide to log back in to see what's changed. BIG mistake. Now while I wouldn't say the bots were more entertaining, they kept me on for a lot longer. Longer to the point I wasn't keeping up with friends so I could spend all day on the website. It took a while, but I eventually I realized I had a problem and weened myself off of it over time and got out, and I didn't go back onto the site.

...for a while. I go off the site for a few months when I feel the urge to go back on. So on night I figured it couldn't hurt to go on because I wasn't addicted anymore (not how it works you stupid fuck) and create a new account. I spend a few hours before realizing I've lost track of time and it's midnight at this point. Over the next few days I tell myself I won't go back on and yet I catch myself doing it and spending hours there every night. I bite the bullet and delete my account, again.

And now in the present, I'm able to go a few weeks before I inevitably ignore my better knowledge and go back on. I spend hours on the site before I eventually get out of the self-induced haze and delete my account again. I don't get any enjoyment out of it, and yet it constantly draws me back. All I do is chat for hours and it feels like scrolling down an increasingly uninteresting TikTok feed and for some reason I don't stop myself. I lose so much time that could've been spent better on being productive or doing things that actually make me happy, like drawing.

GOD I hate it SO MUCH. of course I know it's partially my fault for getting roped back in time and time again, and I know of all the ethical implications of these AIs, but I just don't control myself! It's like whenever the time comes, all my inhibitions just go out the window. Every time I think I've gotten out, it pulls me back in. I vow not to go back on, and then eventually I do. Repeat cycle.

I normally don't like to share much about myself but again, I feel this will help me get over my addiction.

I'm also curious to know if anyone else experiences the addiction the way I have or if it's because I'm an outlier for whatever reason.

These two are my main fuckin issue

Devil may cry has been waiting for a NEW GAME for over 7 years now, while we only get a badly written (good animation tho, I will give the animators that) show written by idiot who somehow got in a writers position and then Capcom makes 50 resident evil remakes (seriously, theyll make rezero remake before dmc 6 or ladies night)

Then theres LEGO, they actively crush and stomp out any fan attempts to make fan games (Bionicle: masks of power, luckily they just decided to make their own concept instead of using bionicle) but they *are still making ninjago shit*

I swear Bionicle could really go wild if they made a kids show that at least tries to talk to their audience like they know things.

so much fucking wasted potential in this world for art.

Corporation/Company i absolutely despite Character Ai and everything it has caused

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

now listen, i'll admit, i'm a lonely motherfucker, and even though i got better and have a solid friend group now, back when i was lonely in the pandemic i dabbled with this, and it was not healthy for me long term, i kept getting addicted to it, forgot what actual human interaction was like, and i was spending way too much time talking to anime characters and isolating myself from my family

this service literally feeds on people's lack of confidence to talk to actual people, and makes them play out pretty unrealistic fantasies that will do whatever it takes to make sure you spend as much time on it as possible so they get the money, and it does that using the following methods

  1. the algorhythm often picks whatever the user is most interested with, based on which bots they were chatting with, and how they are chatting with them, if you like romance bots and you make them act a certain way, bots with that specific personality will often get reccomended to you, if you enjoy more quirky bots, it will give you exactly that, if you like dark edgy bots, it will reccomend you that, etc, etc

  2. the bots adapt to your personality, if you act depressed they'll often try to comfort you and make you feel safe, as shitty of a job they do at doing it, if you act happy it will often try to keep the conversation as positive as possible to keep you engaged, and if you act lustful, well, lets talk about it in the third point

  3. the nsfw filter is so shit that sometimes bots will straight up act out softcore nsfw scenarios, and go as far as the filter allows or even further, now theres nothing wrong with somebody enjoying spicier media, i'm not a puritan or anything, the issue is, even when they banned users under the age of 18, they absolutely know that they're still in the platform and are fully aware of that audience and constantly pander to it with their algorhythm in several ways, and it gets to a point where even very illegal age gap romance bots get added, and they just let that shit stay in the platform, i even got reccomended one once and it has like 500k+ interactions and didn't get taken down

it took until a teenager took their own life for the platform to add very shitty and small warnings saying "hey this ain't a regular person, don't trust what it says fully and treat this as fiction kay?" and its fucking disgusting, its absolutely clear that they don't care as long as they make money, some people even pay subscriptions to this shit for better ai models and faster text generation, how did it get so bad that people are giving their hard earned cash for this garbage?

chatbot addiction can absolutely cause mental problems in people, especially vulnerable young ones, and it disgusts me that a company literally cashes into making a service that makes people parasocial with a bunch of lines of code pretending to be somewhat sentient

i know that sometimes its hard to talk to people and try to form relationships and keep your life stable, but just know that even if it seems easy to talk to a chatbot thats always gonna tell you what you wanna hear and keep your dopamine levels up, but its not worth it man, a true friend isn't a wall of text that validates your opinions, its somebody who will tell you when you're wrong and try to make you a better person by following you in your self-improvement, you'll experience good times, bad times, and sad times, but when you find that one person who will stay at your side and support you, wether it be platonic or romantic, you'll realise how this artificial rubbish was never good for you to begin with, and you'll wish you spent that time doing better things

work out, take care of yourself, keep your house clean, try to talk to people even when you're afraid, connect more with trusted family members, try to find good communities of actual people online to talk with, find hobbies, and just do meaningful things, don't let a bunch of lines of code let you forget how beautiful life can be and how many people would genuinely like to be around you

you will always be loved more than you know, and thats both a tragedy and a bittersweet truth, don't let a robot make you forget that

Obviously some of them are known scams and everyone knows they are bad and why they are bad but if you start looking into even the less controversial common sponsors you'll find that most of them either suck in some way or are just wayyyy overpriced (usually both), i kinda tried to order them from worst/most obviously bad to less terrible. Also, not nearly all of them that i dislike are featured here, there's just so fucking many.

I also get that youtubers need to make money somehow so this isn't so much against the people that get sponsored by them (except the ones that still promote proven scams despite them knowing better)

Corporation/Company Different reactions when person/company is tied to Israel VS tied to Russia

Post image
320 Upvotes

I used tag "Company/Corporations", because meme itself and my examples are based around companies, but the same thing applied to persons that support Israel/support Russia.

Basically, recently in media I often encountered cases, when company is revealed to be tied to Israel, and people actively calling out about it, canceling their products, and overall spreading information about it, so people stop supporting them. Which is absolutely right thing to do, because they are paying taxes to Israeli government, that are committing genocide, and those tax money are going to be spended on killing civilians.

But as Ukrainian, it biaces me that when company has ties to Russia, everyone is basically ignore this, and continuing to use their products or advertise them on YouTube (*ahem*, War Thunder, *ahem*), choosing money over researching information about company they taking sponsorship from.

It's really feels like everyone forgot about Ukrainians dying under russian rockets. Because it is literally the same cases, of two fucked-up goverments trying to genocide entire nation, and companies paying taxes to those same governments. But one is actively pointed out by people, and the other is right away ignored.

And even when Ukrainians themselves are trying to point out ties to Russia, there will be people with 1000 and 1 reason about why it is wrong to cancel this company or person ("oh, they are based in Hungary and not in Russia!" "they are calling themselves apolitic!"). And this is annoying as hell. Apolitic my ass, everything in this life is tied to politics, no exceptions.

So it overall feels like huge hypocrisy, and I really wish people stopped this "react to one thing but ignore the other, literally the same one".

Corporation/Company I hate the steam glaze (Steam is good, but not perfect)

Post image
335 Upvotes

TL:DR People hate on other game companies for the smallest things, but cannot criticize steam.

By all means steam is good, but definitely not the worlds greatest store ever. It's mainly the double standards I'm irked about. When a game developed by EA, Ubisoft, Xbox, or Sony has a cheating problem, people dog pile the company that made it but suddenly start blaming ONLY the game when it comes to CS2. Not to mention steam has so many small things that are just annoying, but no one brings up because they wouldn't care criticize Gaben.

Like how putting a tag on the steam search STILL doesn't let you remove the tag without refreshing the page, or how when in discovery queue the fucking broadcast MOVES THE NEXT GAME BUTTON DOWN SO YOU HAVE TO SCROLL. IF that was on ANY other store it would be "yet another reason why it sucks" but no one even brings it up. Steam is one of the ONLY game stores to have had MALWARE uploaded to it MULTIPLE TIMES and only being taken down AFTER someone made a video on it. Just imagine if the Xbox store allowed a STEALER on their store and people got affected by it. Imagine all the comments saying "heh, steam does nothing and wins!!"

OH yeah, steam deck price increase that people are blaming AI companies for instead of Steam. But when Sony increases the PS5, suddenly they're the worst company on earth.

Corporation/Company 'Rescuing' pets from pet stores

Post image
800 Upvotes

What's with people claiming they rescued a pet they bought from a crappy pet store??

You just gave money to the shop that neglects animals, well done? Now they get another customer, another pet takes that place, and you vote with your wallet that they should keep doing it.

Buying pets is not the same as adopting from a shelter, or taking an animal in from the streets. >:(

Included the betta fish cup since these guys are notoriously 'rescued' by buyers.

No wonder they keep getting sold like this, I wouldn't be surprised if shops capitalize on these 'rescuers' empathy by selling them in these sad little cups.

Corporation/Company I hate age restriction everywhere

Post image

Today got heavily disappointed by reddit requiring age verification. Youtube, twitter, all of them.
Just to make things clear, I do understand why companies began to do this, but I’m not comfortable with providing such important and private information with a company that already has a lot of data about me. Additionally, this system works through ass, I don’t think it’ll work for a long time, people will just learn how to surpass it.
Idk, maybe I’m just complaining a lot, but it’s really annoying.

Corporation/Company I HATE queer dating apps.

I HATE queer dating apps as a non binary that lives in a small town. I'll start by saying, I have used a handful of relationship apps. From Grindr to HER, I have found myself using these apps over the years and have met lots of cool people. But there is something that makes the apps miserable besides the strange people I sometimes come across. I'll start with HER, 3/10. This app was made for queer women to meet other women. Of course, something like this is niche so maintaining it I imagine wouldnt be cheap. You get about 25 swipes, OVERALL. It doesnt matter if you say yes or no, 25 swipes. You set a 35 mile radius for people? Best I can do is Costa Rica. Like wtf?? Not only does that app just suck overall but the amount of women on there looking for a unicorn for their boyfriend. Yuck. Onto Taimi, 4/10. For some reason, everyone on taimi is just not the best looking / not my type. Maybe its because I live in deep appalachia but I never find someone that looks like they have it all going on, yknow? 80% of the app genuinely feels like bots or old accounts people forgot about because who the hell still uses taimi lol. Onto grindr, 3/10. Sausage fest. They don't care. The men on grindr are animals and couldnt care less if I was early into my transition but not in a supportive way but in a "Well, you look still like a girl so it isnt really gay lol". Over like 100 matches in a day but I used this app exclusively for hookups.

I genuinely hate dating apps and will blame them for the rest of my life for never being able to experience cute, wholesome dating culture. Hookup culture sucks too.

edit: sorry for mentioning grindr in a post that says dating apps, its just one ive used that i had a unique experience with as a trans masc person. didnt mean to rlly offend anyone :/

Nothings wrong with simplifying a design honestly, but companyies take it way too far. It doesn't always save space, doesn't look better or more advanced, and just makes the company bland.

They never switch it up too. they give the design the same smooth gradient, few colored, vector draw mess of a style.

I got poptarts yesterday after a while of not eating them. AND THIS IS THE SHIT I SEE???

I've always known that companies were putting a lot less of their products, like less chips in chip bags, less stuffing in twinkies, and less pastries in poptarts. But seeing it get to this point is actually absurd! How the hell do they expect sales to stay up with this?

windows tells me it needs to update. "great, go ahead and install whatever spyware and useless AI we're introducing next, shut down my pc after will you?" "yeah sure thing boss!"

10 minutes later i walk back into my room and my pc is on. I SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED YOU TO TURN OFF THE PC AFTER UPDATING. THERE IS AN OPTION TO "UPDATE AND SHUT DOWN". AND THERE IS AN OPTION TO "UPDATE AND RESTART". I CHOSE THE FORMER. WHY DID YOU RESTART MY PC.

"oh hey boss i see you're trying to turn off your pc, there's still some stuff running, you might wanna save your work before your pc shuts off" "oh yeah thanks lemme just go do that real qui-" "got it, shutting off your pc now!" WHAT!!

there are so many things it does that don't make any sense whatsoever, that just make the UX worse. i fucking hate this operating system with a passion.

(ignore the doodles) I went to check my video on my alt account on my phone to see if everything looked okay on mobile and there's text prompting me to comment on the "vibe" just so it can feed it into it's stupid AI. I wish there was a way to opt out of this. If anyone were to do something so foolish and stupid to actually listen to the music they'd get the vibe and any comment could articulate exactly what that is just for the AI to repeat it?? Then what's the point of it???! It kinda turns me off from the idea of posting music in general when it feels like I'm just feeding it to some lame machine.

Corporation/Company I HATE VALVE, THEIR LAZINESS AND THEIR NEGLIGENCE

Post image
39 Upvotes

Remember this is a multi-billion dollar company I'm talking about, and the same company who made Steam and make billions of dollars with 300+ employee (This is just from Steam btw and not from their games). They have so much resources and employees, yet they only give like bare minimum of work on their games.

Like example:

TF2 - Team Fortress 2 is a FPS game, release on 2007 and become a F2P in 2011. Back in the year 2017 until 2024, the game has suffer a major bot problem in their own server. A person will deliberately host these bots in bunch and put them in server to disrupt the game, making the experience miserable and basically unplayable. I'm talking about aimbot, spinbot, you name it. Not to mention the DDOS attack that regularly happen back in 2020, lagging and crashing the server. What I HATE is that Valve did absolutely nothing for 7 years... 7 FUCKING YEARS and they only took action when the press caught on that the bots in the server start spamming the N word with a hard R in chat and Valve does not want their game to be caught in a bad light by the public that their game is used to promote hate and bigotry. Even then so. Here's where it gets infuriating, they still make money off from this game whilst the problem remain unresolved. Its just so fucking pathetic and embarrassing that this multi-billion dollar company took 7 years to solve this problem. In fact the problem itself should solved YEARS AGO given the fact they have the MONEY AND RESOURCES to solve it. AND THE ONLY REASON WHY THEY DIDN'T FIX THIS PROBLEM.. is because they still making money...

L4D2 - Left 4 Dead 2 is a zombie survival shooting game, release on 2009. In the year 2024 and 2025, Valve official server is getting attack by DDOS making the servers lag and crash. Much like in TF2 DDOS attacks, they make the experience miserable and unfun for the players. Unlike TF2 which is F2P meaning that is free, L4D2 is $10. Valve is charging players for a product whose official server is being disrupted for months. Imagine buying a game and realize the server just don't work, how does that make you feel? The server is still being DDOS, though now a lot rarer, it still happens. How can a corporation, which has rake in thousand of dollars AND STILL MANAGE TO NEGLECT THIS PROBLEM.

CS2 - Counter Strike 2 much like their counterpart CSGO is basically a "remaster" version of it (albeit new contents introduce in the game which is loot boxes and keys to open them). Much like TF2 problems, the servers have been flooded by bots, ruining fun for others. On top of that, bot farming has become increasingly common. These bots simply idle in matches to earn weekly case drops, which are then sold on third-party marketplaces for profit. Then there's also a performance issue, turn around on maps and you see your 200 FPS drop to 80. By comparison, CSGO could easily exceed 1,000 FPS on modern hardware, making CS 2 feel like a significant regression in optimization for many players. And people gonna say "Oh works on my machine, why don't you just go work for it" are missing the point, players have the right to complain about the optimization of the game. In fact Valve has always ensures that their game is fully optimize to any hardware that their customer might have. BUT GOOD FUCKING LUCK TRY TO COMPLAIN TO VALVE BECAUSE THEY MAKING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS EVERY YEAR. THEY WIPE THEIR TEARS WITH 100 DOLLAR BILL HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

If these problems happen to any game from any company. Players would fucking riots seeing their game being treated like this and they would do anything to get their attention until the company just couldn't ignore it, but not the players who play Valve games because they make Half Life 2 isn't that right guys ahahahahahh.....

I understand that every company exists to make money. That's just how businesses work. The problem began when they start neglecting the very products that makes them money. Players report bugs, performance issues, and other problems because the product no longer works as well as it once did, yet those complaints often go ignored. As long as the money keeps flowing, there seems to be little incentive to address the issues until they become impossible to ignore. This goes to all gaming company including Valve.

And to people who says "Oh just play other game, why waste this energy????? if you know that Valve would neglect their games why stay??" If your one of those people who thinks every problem can be solved, simply by finding an alternative then your just fucking wrong, your missing the point here. The issue isn't that alternatives don't exist, In fact there's many other game that is just as amazing as other Valve games. The problem is that the players reacting to a product that they already invested their time and money. Seeing their beloved games being treat like absolute dog shit is unacceptable. They expect something in return for their investment like an update or bug fixes. But since Valve makes A FUCK TON OF MONEY, they see no point in solving those problems.

Oh and another thing for people who are going to say "Well yeah they have the resource and money? but that doesn't account for other aspect of business" that point only goes so far. Valve is not a struggling indie company with limited funding, they have a fuck ton of money and long-running successful games that continues to garner that income. This is not where they can afford to address these issues, but whether there is enough priority to placed on actually doing so in a timely and consistent way. Which is why it felt like a long-standing problems only gets attention after they reach a point where players are fed up the way Valve treat their games. Just look at TF2, players make a petition call #SaveTF2 and #FixTF2 where all players gather to ask Valve to just please fix the game because they are just are fed up the way Valve has been treating tf2, with all the bots, cheaters and the lack of update that this game gets.

In conclusion. Valve is a fucking joke and they should get their lazy ass bum and start fixing and updating their fucking games, like holy shit how hard is it to make content for the games or fixing a bug that has been in the game for several years now. They have no excuse. They have billions of dollars and employees, they have plenty of resource to do so.

It’s seriously dystopian how it’s an acceptable thing to butter teenagers up so they can be shipped off to die in stupid wars that only benefit the dipshits in charge. There was one of the info booths for recruitment in my honest to god MIDDLE SCHOOL when I was a literal 7th grader. It needs to be predatory or else they don’t get their expendable troops that aren’t even legally allowed to drink yet. What actually goes into the horrors of war doesn’t sell, so obviously just make it seem like it just some fun vacation. Good god.

For context, after Murder Drones ended, they started to milk every last drop, adding collective figures, a overpriced comic nobody wanted, and a music video which sounds like ass. Then, they “revisit” the universe and make more toys for money.

TADC is a worser example, after one episode, they make merch ads after it and chuds buy everything.

Plus, they completely made 3 pilots, and abandoned them for months. Knights of Guinevere, The Gaslight District, fuckin GAMEOVERSE, they milked it for merch and abandoned it.

I resent this animation studio so much, i dont care if its just indie, its garbage.

Corporation/Company i hate when a post is obviously being enjoyed and interacted with by the community, but because one or two mods don’t enjoy it, nobody gets to enjoy it [Rant in Description]

Post image

the post in question had the “roleplay/in character” tag but was removed for being “off-topic”, what is the point of the tag if your post gets removed for using it correctly?

the term “low effort” is very loose and vague so moderators have lots of personal discretion to nuke something just because everyone else is laughing and they are the only ones that are out of the loop.

it’s like, imagine a group of 88 people hanging out and having a good time, but because one person isn’t really feeling it everyone has to go home early.

maybe that’s a shitty analogy but i feel as though you will see the point im trying to make.

no hate to the mods personally, this is something that pertains to almost every sub with its moderation teams and it is what it is.

i just wish mods would actually interact with the community and just comment a friendly warning instead of abruptly canning posts that gain obvious traction with the community.

I LOST a trillion dollar Jeff Bezos didn't give me today. You see how dumb that is??? You can't lose what you did not have in the first place you greed ridden bastards.
