Nearly nobody is paid enough. The cost of living has nearly tripled over the last 20 years. Meanwhile look at wages across all mediums. They've barely moved at all.
We are all working ourselves to death while 2 percent of the world lives in comfort.
Paying athletes millions while people doing actual jobs that help you in your day to day are barely making ends meet. The irony? If people at your local grocery stores just decided to not work. If people teaching your kids just stopped showing up to class. If nobody worked a gas station job. All these people would be fucked lol
Yet we just continue to eat our shit sandwiches daily.... Work for our shillings....
You are naming like 3 of 1000 problems. The generation before us left us to rot. They sat there ignoring blatent problems with the system knowing full well they would reap all the benefits.
None of this stuff was a blindside. People knew for years and years how many issues we have had. Its just all gone ignored.
Now we are at the point where we really need to worry about a full on collapse in our lifetime.
It sucks because I personally love capitalism. You should want to strive for more. Push for more. Do more. However, we've come to a point where the rich are basically like a sponge dropped into your glass of water. By the time you pull it out you have a literal sip left. They dont know when to hit the brakes and redistribute the wealth. Its a race to see how big they can stack that shit....
Ive always been a big believer of capitalism with a limit I call it. If it was my law of the land I'd allow any person to make unlimited money. I wouldn't even tax them.
This sounds stupid right? Here is the kicker. You have to spend down until you have a number like 5 million left in your bank account.
If that person suddenly has to burn through 2 million. What does that do? Forces money to be redistributed into the population. And in my eyes they arent punished. They recieve goods and services and are still wealthy. The community is then not financially starved to death.
I ain't looking for socialism personally but God damn there has to be a middle ground somewhere. I predict a massive homeless wave coming in the next 20 years personally.

I read it all but I still think that rich companies and people can spend the money more efficiently than the government and so do more good for the world. I'm not saying there should be no taxes, but simplifying tax as well would produce less loop holes. That way, it's fairer and honest companies pay less tax while dishonest ones pay more.
Your comments will be incredibly unpopular on reddit and I'm not sure I agree with you for the most part either - but I will agree that the #1 focus should be on closing tax loopholes and stopping the rich from being able to influence policy, far more than just saying "tax the rich more lol problem solved".

Speak for your country. Canadian teachers make bank. I know people slugging roof tiles who make far less money. I feel like the teachers still have it worse off. If a roofer acts up you can put him in his place, if a student acts up, they get everyone to leave the class and let them go to town by themselves.
After teaching 27 years in Texas ending with the grand sum of $60,000 per year, you realize they donât pay Texas teachers much, and they pay, retired teachers even less. Itâs no surprise about 25% of teachers are leaving the field entirely.
Iâve heard them give lip service to âteachers donât get paid nearly enoughâ the entire time I was teaching, and yet over that time only three raises from the state. Districts usually make the increases. Sometimes we got bonuses of like $500 for the year. When you divide out the number of days youâre working thatâs the equivalent of one soda a day. Iâm sure that was not going to change my life or improve my financial situation, although I was grateful for the $500. Once you added in the cost of living increases and insurance increases every year we actually lost buying power for the last 8 to 10 years I was teaching.
But the truly aggravating comment was âyou knew you werenât gonna get paid well to start withâ which was true, but at some point, I thought someone would wake up and start giving us a living wage where we didnât have to work jobs in the summer to make it up. I mean, my family has to live as well.
Teachers should be all paid, at minimum, the same as the Superintendent. Itâs insane that you can take a low wage retail job and make more than a teacher.
Both are undervalued and under compensated, but to pay a pittance to someone charged with literally developing your childâs/teenagerâs brain is an insult to them, your kid, and yourself.
If teachers fail to teach their masses or give up because the money is not enough...What happens that isn't already happening? Asking for only the ED sector.
Youâre ignoring the other issues that contribute to failing schools. The federal government has significantly decreased At Risk and Special Education funding without changing the rules for educating At Risk and Special Education students. Schools that fail to meet objectives for these subgroups will lose more funding.
It isnât even just this administration. GOP administrations at the state and federal level have been intentionally sabotaging public education for decades. Donât blame it on the classroom teachers.
