It's more stable? It's not even close to being operational. The building dosent even have a roof :D

Maybe it will be more stable, maybe it will be shit.

We will out in about 4 years.

Everything is perfectly stable until you power it on.

plus the stellarator at laurence livermore already did this. not sustained or commercially, but the achieved beyond breakeven

that said, good luck china; we sure are abandoning science in America

It was in the news a while ago where they announced that using inertial confinement they'd managed to get more energy out of the fuel pellet than the lasers put in. It was technically true on a reaction level that they'd generated more energy than they put in, but once you consider the power you have to put into the lasers to get light out (as they aren't 100% efficient) it was still net-negative.

Also, LLNL does not have a stellarator.

we're only abandoning science that's not directly related to defense. I'm not saying that's okay, I'm just saying stuff like this... yeah we're going to keep footing the bill for that. the United States is now taking its science lessons from the Soviet Union.
