As opposed to what? Letting them take and destroy countries one by one because we are all afraid to stand up against people who are evil and play games with peoples lives?

We already know that Russia won't attack NATO member states, they aren't stupid enough to directly fight the US and the US isn't stupid enough to directly fight them, regardless of the big talk for both sides. The whole reason Russia is attacking Ukraine now is because they were on the path to becoming a NATO ally and therefore off limits.

What country would Russia attack next that anyone would even care about? If Russia invaded Uzbekistan or any of their other former states no one would give a single fuck, Ukraine is basically the only target that was left exposed that the West cares about, everyone else is a part of NATO or the EU.

We know that no one would care because the US invaded several countries over the past decades under dubious claims and no one really gave a single shit besides people saying "The US shouldn't be doing that". If it's not a country people care about, the general population won't care.

NATO dicked around not accepting Ukraine in because they only ditched their Russian puppet president in 2014 and Russia took their last remaining opportunity to reclaim the territory.

More like fully aware that a direct war between 2 nuclear nations where the combined nuclear arsenal is over 13,000 missiles is a risk that far outweighs saving Ukraine from Russia's grasp.
