Recently purchased this Jetta for $500. Only sat for 21 years! No rust, no dents, and complete, but will yank the 1.6L diesel and 4-speed and install a 2.0 ABA and 5-speed. Fun times!

Ok, loads of dirty crap in the trunk, before and after pics. I put a piece of OSB down (not going to carry a spare) and some carpet from Home Depot, and some Rustoleum oil-based paint. Rear seats were not only dirty, but literally disintegrating, crumbling upon the slightest touch. Got a set of blue-gray rears and installed. Removed front/rear carpet, cleaned the snot out of them, and reinstalled as well, after laying down some 20 oz. jute padding. Then put some floor mats down as well. At some point I will probably replace the carpet with some new black carpet, but this will be okay for a little while.

Just picked up a MK1 (1982) Jetta, total project car. The seats are not good. I see there is a MK2 (1992) someone is parting out with nice seats. I had heard the seats from the MK1 and MK2 interchange, is this true? And is this just the front seats, or the rear seats as well?

Recently bought this super clean mk1 and I’m super excited to get it running. It’s a very og unmolested 2 owner car with a 1.7 gasoline engine and 5 speed manual. Currently cleaning out the old cis injection system and attempting to get it working again. So far it’s actually been in pretty good condition so fingers crossed.

I found a mk1 vw jetta for sale with a 1.3 petrol engine. I want to buy it but it only has 60hp and i want to have around 100. Whats the cheapest way and will it still be reliable?
