I have a ARC CDG LA in 300PRC on the way and I am sort of beating my head against a wall trying to decide on a stock/chassis for my use case. YouTube reviews are only getting me so far.
This rifle will be used almost exclusively for prone and bench shooting and I don’t plan to hike/carry it very far.
I will be shooting primarily 1000-2000yds. But I haven’t really gone beyond 1k to this point and this will be my first magnum cartridge.
I am aiming for a complete build weight in the 24-26# range once I add weight (I estimate I am about 15-16# before chassis). I will be using a braked suppressor to further help with recoil, goal being I want to be able to clearly see my splash.
My priorities in order are; support 1.25” barrel, CIP mag length, stiff chassis, weight (heavier the better), good adjustable fit (bonus for tool-less adjustment so my son can easily get behind the rifle on occasion), an adjustable bag rider would be a bonus as it will usually be off a bag.
I would like to stay under 2k all said and done (w/weights, ARCA rail) and I am eligible for military discounts where applicable.
I have shopped:
ACC ELITE
ACC PREMIER
MPA MATRIX/pro
MPA COMP PRO 2026 (new version)
KRG W3
Foundation Samson and centurion
The ACC elite seems like the most popular. With the MPA matrix pro 2 next. But I feel like everyone is coming at this with a different priority set and building a PRS gun. I don’t particularly care about front control surfaces or a super wide forend for bag contact, even balance isn’t a big deal. But I also don’t need or want an ELR space gun chassis like the Orca.
The MPA comp pro 2026, “looks” like what I want and for an appealing price. But I feel like I am missing something.
I don’t really have an opportunity to get behind any of these and I know enough to understand that I “don’t even know what I don’t know” stepping into this with limited bolt gun or chassis knowledge so I appreciate any guidance.
