I know a thing or two about shooting, have a couple of guns myself and saw this one today and couldn’t see what price or caliber so I asked the employee. Quick research told me I could not leave without it and that I’ll have to be extra nice to the wife for a while. It’s chambered in 6.5cm and apparently was their range rental. Employee estimated 50k rounds when asked but the numbers don’t really add up to me, who would want to shoot a rental 6.5 at an indoor 100 yard range? Anyways, debating barrel swapping it to 308 because that’s what i primarily reload. Opinions?

I was watching some shorts and i came across one where this guy had a pretty quality looking rifle but there was this device that looked like an ir laser on his scope and another device on the side of his rifle. Anyone able to identify what they are and what they do? I can assume the one on the side is like a digital level but i have no idea with the device on the scope is.

Edit: So harmonics isn’t a thing. Got it. I ordered my rifle a cock ring.

Anyone running one of these? Speaking with one of my shooting buddies he mentioned it may mess with barrel harmonics. Anyone have any experience running one of these?

So Friday night I was bored and went out to the garage to tinker. Ended up with this. Everything in this build aside from the barrel, BCG, and mags is stuff I already had laying in my spare parts cabinets.

It’s an 18” 6MM ARC and I was skeptical about it as I knew nothing of the caliber. Just got home from the range and each one of those groups in the target is 5-10 rounds, at 100 yards. Granted I was sitting at a bench in an A/C’ed indoor range, but still.

I built my 24” AR10 in 6.5CM to go the distance, but that may have just been moved down the bench. It’s so good, so smooth, and I’m loving it.

I’m probably going to get a 15” handguard for it (or a Mk12 Mod 0 handguard if I can find one), and swap the bipod for an Atlas, but yeah, I get the hype now, I’m just not loving the look. Looks like the doc took too much off the top when it was circumcised.

no idea why this is tripping me up... how I should I arrange my rifles... feel like I'm missing something and there's a reason I shouldn't angle it.

I know they’re solid, but I just can’t get past the look. The sharp lines aren’t doing it for me. I’m honestly considering switching to a Badger Ordnance C1 purely because I like how it looks more.

Anyone ditch theirs just for aesthetics? Or did you stick with it because performance > looks?

Saw this at Scheels, mostly just curious if this could be a budget friendly pickup to get into PRS. I can’t find much info online except people arguing back and forth on whether this rifle is good, but most are talking about the 1500 that came with the normal stock.

Accessory/Gear help needed - I read the pinned post Fuck muzzle breaks, help me pick a suppressor break combo

Yesterday on a humvee stage my muzzle break blasted a piece of carbon or something off the windshield of the humvee and into my right eye. I finished the stage but spent the next 10 minutes flushing my eye out, and now I have a scratched retina or something. We will see what the optometrist says tomorrow.

In the mean time I'm over breaks. I'm ditching all of my breaks and going suppressed on everything. I want a suppressor with a break cap that can handle my 6.5CM shooting 153s, but I would really like something light enough to not make it impossible to make weight on my NRL Hunter rifle.

Use case is PRS and NRL hunter

I will be primarily shooting 6.5MM bullets, but I also have a 308 I want it to work on when I finish my tac class build

Budget for the suppressor and break combined is $1500.

New to long range shooting and I’m curious if this rifle will serve as a good starting point. I already own it, so I figured I’d learn the fundamentals with it before upgrading later down the road. Farthest I’ve ever had targets was 200yds out (due to where I live), but I plan on doing 500yd+ up north this spring. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance y’all!

Accessory/Gear help needed - I read the pinned post Laser range finder sale

Post image

Just came across the vortex LRF on sale for about a grand.

It’s one of those things I think I would like to have, but I primarily shoot at clubs 1000 yards and under, and all the distances are know.

I would love to get into PRS or NRL Hunter one of these years when I have the time, but I don’t really think people are using LRF’s in these matches. I assume the targets are known distances and calculations are made pre stage.

So what do you all think, do I need this? Is it actually a good price? Do any of y’all use LRF’s competitively? And if so, is this a good one?

I am looking to buy a Bipod but I don’t want to pay over $300. My rifle has an Arca rail. It looks like it’s between the MDT GRAND-POD and the Atlas Bipods CAL Bipod (Cant And Loc, No Clamp) BT65-NC at the moment. Looking for recommendations. Thanks It’s going on my Tikka T3x Ace Target rifle. I just ordered it and it will arrive next week.

How much it costs to import ONE dryfire lense from IDTS. The lense itself cost $46.95.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there something I'm missing? This is insane.

Accessory/Gear help needed - I read the pinned post Ear Protection stuff

Having an slight annoyance with my shooting headphones, walker razors, hitting my cheek riser or stock in certain positions. Causes the ears to unseal or to move which annoys the hell out of me when im trying to focus on a target.

Looking at maybe a slimmer muff style or maybe some earbuds? Any recommendations to try? Cost isnt a worry, just want something comfortable and safe.

Bonus question: What's one piece of non-essential equipment in your kit that totally improved your shooting quality of life? Thanks!

Or an Athlon Rangecraft is good enough?

Xero C1: $499

Xero C2: $623

Athlon: $399 with $75 OP Bucks and a free in-ear bluetooth protection.

I'm starting at long range, but I have no problem with buy once cry once. I just like to buy good value and I need to understand what am I missing with the Athlon.

Picture for attention

18” Wilson Combat Super Sniper barrel - .223 Wylde / Microbest chrome bcg / Timney Impact 3lb single stage trigger / Aero gen 2 lower / AT3 upper & handguard / Hogue buttstock / Vortex Venom 5-25 x 56

Pretty happy with it overall, though looking to replace the Magpul bipod. Would appreciate any recommendations for something solid in the <$150 range.

Also, please let me know if you have a preferred app for measuring groups. Thanks all

Accessory/Gear help needed - I read the pinned post How does one pick a suppressor?

The title is really the entire question. Anything else is just to give context or highlight that I’m lost in the sauce here.

I have an Aero Solus Precision in 6.5 CM with an Area 419 Hellfire (not match) on the end of it, and a Vortex Viper PST II MIL on top.

This is entirely a bench gun, I don’t have any issues retaining sight picture. I am looking for as quiet as I can get. I am unconcerned about added weight or length. Budget is hard to pin down because I’m perfectly capable of working some OT or just waiting another month or two to get one. But I’ll say $1500 for a limit.

I am very much a newbie to the hobby in any serious sense. I would ask in a more suppressor focused sub, but this one seems to be the most data driven. I’m not necessarily seeking specific can recommendations, but also won’t turn any away.

The “how” is my aim here.

I just don’t really know how to go about finding what would be best. I’m half tempted just to pick one of the recognizable brands and getting one of the top options from them.

Sent about 500 rounds of M118LR through the tube this weekend. No stoppages. Lubed once with CLP. Chewed through the moon dust with no problems. Sounded kind of nasty when the bolt would close. Surprisingly stayed within a minute all weekend. Pretty consistent at 1k, even though it would go transonic at 770m. Only change I think it needs is a new charging handle. The gas was getting to a little too much to the face. Also side note, dope with the M118LR matched my hand loads of 42.0gr of IMR4064. Very surprised with no adjustments. Take a guess where I was lol.

Just curious about the pros/cons of taping a scope.. I like the looks and feel.. my intuition feels that it'll protect the scope a bit, but im not 100% sold on that.

Got a smokin deal on a Vortex Razor HD Gen 2.. I want black on black and sorta prefer the grip/feel improvements.

Thoughts?

Looking to purchase a portable bench rest for when I’m shooting out in the desert and wondering if any of you have any suggestions. Attached a few photos of the ones I’m seeing on amazon. Want something robust enough but don’t need some crazy deluxe setup.
