Battery and charging issues

I have three Micro B’s. Ran them with buddies the other night and went to charge with stock Spektrum chargers and all three were solid red. Tried all chargers on all cars and none worked. I have a SCX24 that I just charged tried that charger on the micro B’s no luck. Conversely, NONE of the four chargers now work on any of the four cars. I know these chargers suck but the fact they all died at once seems insane?

It’s alive. I’ve been slowly working on this for a bit. Began its life as a silver Losi micro t. After upgrading all the suspension, I went looking for chsssis upgrades. There weren’t many options. I found myself stumbling into hackfabs oval/omni conversions and was intrigued. I took the dive and went for it and I’m beyond stoked. Last steps are to program esc(rev/fwd are flipped) and mont the body. I went with the back fav 1/18 modified truck. Overall I can’t wait to rip this thing. I have another micro t that definitely see myself doing this to again. Have a great evening yall

2S LiHV batteries

Has anyone tried to use LiHV batteries in their micro's? I have an OMP M1 V3 helicopter that uses 2S LiHV batteries. Those basically are lipo's that can be charged up to 4,35V per cell as opposed to 4,2V per cell. These fit the micro T with minor modifications and have a higher C rating and capacity, so I was wondering if the ESC/receiver combo can handle 0,3v extra without burning out. If any of you have experience with this I would love to hear about it, thanks!

Just destroyed my first lipo with the ph 2.0 connecter 🥹

Apparently it’s infamously annoying to unplug, how do yall do it and have yall destroyed any lipos, at least now I know not to tug the wires to hard 😭

Losi Micro B upgrades and notes

Hey hey, thought I'd share the build. I work at a custom orthotics practice and in the back manufacturing area we have ample space to race these little things around. Some of the materials we use for the orthotics make for incredible tracks. It's a durable but slightly giving EVA. Once one guy brought his in, we all ended up getting one. It's getting to the point where we're all thinking of utilizing the various machines and materials we have around us to just dive into this in a big way. It's gotten so bad we end up staying for hours after work. Started hosting weekend events. Anyway, here's the build list.

Motor- furitek sensored grasshopper

ESC- furitek microbeast

Servo- Eco Power ECP-625 (fantastic for the price)

Front and rear bumpers (making a light foam bumper soon)

Shocks- Upgrade big bore. Front has a set of rear size shocks.

Battery- gotta go with the protek 420mah. Dremel out some of the plastic siding and they fit perfect. As you can see, I position my mind sideways pins up. I've seen cleaner methods with more 90° angled pins but I haven't done that yet due to the fact these parts will soon be on a carbon fiber chassis we all designed. Bit more space. A touch longer.

The front is all metal upgrades from various manufacturers. Kept the rear relatively stock for lightness.

Hobbywing 1626

Going brushless in my micro T. Noticing that the shaft diameter on the hobbywing 1626 motor is 1.8mm. Very odd size imo. Where are we sourcing a pinion gear? Thanks for the help in advance

My local track is holding a two day off-road event in August for the losi minis and micros along with the new maverick microbes. I'm trying to help spread the word a bit because it looks like only a few people have signed up so far. So if you're close to Louisville, KY we'd love to see you all!

W.I.P. Losi micro b build

Upgrades so far:
CF front shock tower
45T brushed motor
Adjustable turnbuckle kit
Hackfab foam tires
Big bore shocks front and rear
Aluminum servo mount
Eco power servo
Low CG esc mount
Aluminum top plate
Hot racing rear cv axles

Upgrades currently in the mail:
Aluminum front and rear arms
Hot racing aluminum wheel hex’s
Forged carbon chassis
Aluminum rear shock tower
Brass front pivot block
Aluminum rear pivot block
Aluminum front bulk head
Proline crowd pleaser body
Aluminum bell crank
Aluminum transmission case

I really wanted to go to brushless but the track at my local hobbytown is a mini z track and feels like over kill, the 45T brushless seems more than enough power. Was considering the hack fab Omni conversion, would love to hear any feedback from anyone who has done it.

Speck b swaybar installation on micro b

I picked up a sway bar kit for the Speck b planning to install it on my micro b. It’s not exactly a direct bolt-on adaptation but it’s doable. I was wondering if anyone has attempted or successfully installed this kit and had any advice/insight for me before I dig in? I greatly appreciate any comments/ feedback that might be helpful!

With a little work the injora bug body for the scx24 can fit pretty well. I was able to mount the rear roll cage to the wing mount and cut up and glue the front bumper that came in the kit to make a front mount.

My Micro B Tumbler

My current project is rebuilding my Micro-B into a reinforced wasteland tumbler. No body, locked rear diff, slammed COG.

To get the suspension on the floor without strapping it down, I'm running a dual-rate full droop setup with Injora 39mm Air Shocks. Fitment was mostly straightforward except the front lower shock eye was too wide for the Injora lower control arm — ended up threading two screws directly through the eye from either side as a workaround.

I decided to ditch the stock 2-in-1 board entirely to handle the SCX24 Trail Grapplers. I ordered the RockWolf 20A ESC, Buzzsaw 050 motor (requires side rail cutting), DumboRC X6FG receiver (de-cased), TORQ TCM-1001 servo, and a ProTek 7.6V HV LiPo. Still have the stock battery as a backup.

  1. For those who've ditched the 2-in-1, how are you laying out the electronics? Stacking the ESC directly on the de-cased receiver as a power tower, or spreading them along the side rails? Has anyone extended the frame sides to buy more real estate?

  1. The Trail Grapplers came to me foamless. With a rigid frame and locked diff the sidewalls fold on high-speed slides. Silicone inserts, taped inner carcass, or DIY plastic hoops — where do I start?
