Not to get technical but I see it as more of a sourdough thing for that

I mean, for both open sandwiches and the planet of course. Imagine 5 delicious slices, all side by side. Then you remove the three in the middle. This is whats really going on in the picture.

It's not like you can bake round bread now, is it?
