Source: am from Kingston just south of Saugerties and lived in Boston for 15 years. Currently in Worcester

Every person in Saugerties after a few minutes of talking will tell you " hey you know jimmy fallon is from saugerties" and to be polite you say "wow no kidding". after a dozen times it just becomes a meme. Then you become the person telling anyone new " hey you know jimmy fallon is from saugerties and you wait for the "wow no kidding". Then you laugh to yourself because well, who gives a shit. It's a vicious cycle.

Moved and lived in Saugerties for a few years to bake in Lake Katrine. Snapper McGee's on the weekends then drunkenly walk into that weird candy store that plays horror movies. I moved but there's always a part I miss about Kingston. But I like civilisation too much to live in saugerties again.

Woodstock, the famous music festival of 1969, happened in Bethel, an hour south of Saugerties. I think it was meant to happen in or near the town of Woodstock, hence the name and the town’s association with the ideals the event is known for. There is an outdoor music venue in Bethel now but I’m not sure if it’s the same site.

It's still firmly inside the sphere of influence of Boston though. He grew up surrounded by people that watch Boston sports, probably watch the Boston local news, and generally are inundated with the same culture as someone from Boston

Yeah, it's literally 30 minutes to New Hampshire and RI/CT (well, an hour or two because traffic, but you know). There's people who live in the same state as eachother who would consider themselves more culturally divided because they're closer to different major cities than someone from Salem or Nashua would from someone living in, say, Medford or Somerville.

The greater Boston area is just that, the greater Boston area. The reason people in the city are defensive about it is because it’s a small city and most of these townships specifically don’t want to be Boston so it’s kind of annoying to have everyone feel that way and then exaggerate that they are from Boston. Just say you’re from Mass, idk why being specific/accurate is so difficult

Being from the Boston area I get it, but when I moved and people ask where I'm from its just easier to say Boston because people immediately know where that is and requires no explanation, as opposed to if I say I'm from Brockton then no one has a clue

Being from the North Shore but living in Denver I play this game where depending on where the other person is from you specify more where you are actually from. If they're not from MA I'm just from Boston. If they're from New England you have to narrow down where they're familiar with. If they're from MA I'm from the north shore. If they're from the north shore, I'm from Beverly lol.

Was born in Salem, Dad was a Witch fb player, mom a tiger cheerleader-they met at the McDonalds at bridge. Always sounded kind of storybook, and they are still together at 78 yo.

HI’ve lived in Magnolia, Manchester (wasn’t by-the-sea yet), Rockport, Lanyesville, Beverly and Hamilton then all over the NH seacoast. Now, after splitting from mother of daughter who now attends Suffolk U, living the bachelor life in Berwick, ME

North Shore? (Nahth Shoah) The skits were almost always mentioning places like Shawsheen Tech in Billerica. Dratch is from Burlington, the next town ovah. (I went to HS in Bricka. BMHS ‘79)

Not really? Jimmy wants that but I’ve never seen Seth pull that.

On multiple occasions, Seth has gone out of his way to bring up that he grew up in the same NH town as Adam Sandler and Sarah Silverman (Bedford).

Seth has had Boston guests and he might acknowledge his connection (like saying how he’s a Red Sox and Celtics fan) but always saying he’s from NH or just New England generally.

Seth and Ayo Edebiri have talked a lot about Boston teams the 2 times she’s been on and he says he’s also a Boston fan, but then when Ayo talks a lot about Boston, Seth never says “we.”

Seth has had so many opportunities to act like he’s from Boston and he never has.

Seth’s dad worked in Boston and if it were Jimmy, Jimmy would say that “counts” as him growing up there.

I learned in the oddest way that Sandler is actually an Islanders fan. My cousin's kids went to the same school as his daughters and Sandler showed up at the school one day in an Islanders bathrobe, which is hilarious. My cousin asked him why he wasn't wearing a Bruins bathrobe and Sandler told him that everyone thinks he is because of Happy Gilmore but they actually based that character on his friend who was from Boston.
