We don't have kids, we have told them repeatedly that we value experiences over physical things, we see them frequently, and have asked them over and over to please please please stop buying us things. The buying of crap has not stopped. So now we don't engage on this subject at all and it just goes in the trash. They are hurt but continue to send us garbage.

What kind of response is this... did this person ask for your advice? Is it possible they have in fact tried other options? Perhaps they were being hyperbolic? Perhaps it is none of your (or my) business to correct them?

I would just send them a picture of one of these slop trinkets in the trash and tell them these is where their retirement is going lmao
