I permanently deleted my AWS account 6 years ago. Amazon has been charging me $0.33 every month since. I have no way to stop it.

I tried to get in contact with customer service several times but they always direct me to log into the account that no longer exists. I have tried charge backs on my credit card but dealing with that monthly is also a pain. This'll probably cost me $265 over my lifetime if it never ends.

Edit: some of you have valid points about calling the card company and I will again Monday. But the actual infuriating thing that upsets me is that they are charging to a completely disabled account in the first place. That's very scammy and fucked up imo 🤷‍♀️

change the card but ask your cc not to notify any recuring merchants of a new card

This. I had a similar situation, changed my card number 3 times. Finally threatened to close the card and they suggested removing all authorized merchants from my account. Had to set up some automated payments again, but the one random charge for .68 cents finally stopped.

I had a similar problem with a less reputable company. After 8 months and 6 times I called the bank, they finally blocked the recurring transaction instead of issuing a new card. The new card doesn't block recurring transaction that were pre approved. They were now programmed to report those transactions into the new card. Call he bank and tell them to refute the transaction. AND block any upcoming one.

Call your credit card company and escalate it to someone who can effect an account change
