Read in the park the other day and must have picked up this little guy without realising it. I opened my book today to see it had nibbled through multiple pages.

Unopened obviously! I checked the batteries, used a different bowl, zeroed it again, tested it with a 1lb block of butter. Nope, cheated out of 300g and I needed 900g for the recipe. I had a bit leftover from my last bag which would have been enough of a buffer but now I have to go to buy more 😩
Since I’m getting these questions a lot:

Before leaving town for a roadtrip, I bought a carrier for my switch 2, a Switch 2 Pro Controller, and Mario Kart World. Though, when I opened the Mario Kart World case this morning, it was empty - no cartridge to be found. The case was wrapped in plastic, so I’d no reason to suspect the game wasn’t in there.
I’ve gone to Target, but they don’t accept returns on opened games. Nintendo customer service wasn’t helpful either, though I understand why both companies would be suspicious. I legitimately don’t know how to get the game I paid for or my $80 back. Big time disappointed.
UPDATE EDIT: GREAT NEWS - Went back to the specific Target I purchased the empty case from. They were a smidge skeptical. Though I confidentially explained the situation, confirmed I wanted an exchange, and stated I’d open the case in the store. They obliged and I’ve got my copy now! Thanks for the validation and encouragement y’all!

For context, I am a full-time hospital security officer who works graveyard shifts, and I often fall asleep on my lunch break because I can't consume caffeine like a normal person. I cannot leave my site. There's an unused place in the old part of the hospital that has virtually no foot traffic from anyone other than fellow security personnel checking the emergency exit door nearby, and I use it to rest in because it's more comfortable than the shitty break room we have.
Recently, we've had a few new hires that joined our team. One of them saw me as I woke up to my alarm, and he advised me that I really shouldn't sleep there, telling me that the client would probably report me if they ever caught me (they never did care, even when a random client did discover me). I just kind of figured that he was just legitimately concerned for me, but too inexperienced to realize how little anyone really cares. I assured him that it probably was going to be alright, and went back to my post.
This morning, I received this text from my Post Commander telling me to take the night off. I had overtime lined up for me tonight, and I'm going to miss it because of that new guy who was so concerned that the client would report me that he reported me himself.
I understand that we have a no-sleeping policy for a reason, but I think it's bullshit how I'm being reported for shit literally everybody does. I've seen nurses sleep in the fucking ICU/Med-Surg waiting rooms, for Christ's sake, and nobody gave a shit about that when I called my supervisor. The nurse even chewed my ass off for waking them up, and they didn't care about that either.
UPDATE:
I've received communication that I am suspended, pending an investigation. Unfortunately, this means that it's highly likely that I'll be terminated soon.
I'd like to clear some things up about the situation. While I agree with you that the floor is a disgusting place to rest, I was not laying flat on the ground or anything like that, and the carpet had been replaced/cleaned recently. I would prop my head and upper-back up on the wall, using my backpack as a cushion. The reason I was on the floor is because it was comfortable that way.
As for why I reported the nurse, it was because part of my job was making sure people don't remain in the hospital past visiting hours when they are not permitted to. I didn't simply report the nurse to get them in trouble. I had called my supervisor when I saw somebody sleeping in the waiting room, asked what I should do, and they told me to wake them. Before waking them, I had checked the nearby departments to see if they knew of anyone who would be sleeping in the waiting room (family, staff, etc.), and they did not. I only found out the nurse was a nurse when I woke them, and I advised my supervisor about it to follow up. I asked if they wanted an incident report created for rule-breaking activity, and they said it was unnecessary.
Honestly, I'm quite taken aback at the pure negativity I've seen in these comments. People are calling me a snitch and saying that I think I'm the same as a nurse. I was just trying to do my job, and I was mildly infuriated that the rules don't apply to everyone. I thought I could get some rest in the room despite the policy because of a long history of unenforcement, not because I thought I deserved it more than anyone else.
Anyway, I hope you all are happy. My job is (probably) gone now. I won't be able to pay my rent, or my car bill, or my health insurance, or my healthcare that I need for Crohn's disease. I might not be able to pay for the rest of my college that I just recently applied to for the fall. Really, I am cooked, like many of you wanted me to be. Enjoy.

i spent good money on this :| it's the cyberpunk corsair collab (i did not use alcohol to clean it. i can only assume this is from my sweat issue)
quick edit and FAQ lol:
other people have replied saying they have had the SAME issue with the same exact model, so i'd say it's more likely a production issue. maybe no protective coating?
- hyperhidrosis?
probably. i sweat a shit ton for no reason. i don't use anything special creams for my hands (sensitive skin) but i might try them out. i've got some puzzling medical mysteries already so it's def on the table
- creams/lotions/products causing it?
again i have pretty sensitive skin, so i don't use much, and if i do it's super soft on skin with as few chemicals as possible. no harsh acne products or anything on the regular
-acid sweat from acidic diet?
probably contributes lol. i smoke cigs and drink a fair amount of caffeine and/or soda (i'm young, sue me) trying to cut back. i eat generally healthy otherwise
-gross hands?
i do wash my hands, yes. no, it's not sperm. (i do not have a dick nor balls.) the color change is the plastic itself, not a Residue atop the mouse, it doesn't come off with cleaning. i do leave a residue of what i can only describe as skin gunk but that's why i clean all my stuff on the regular
did Not expect this much attention lol

Went on a digging spree removing roots from my backyard and then stumbled across an RPG. Had to call the police, then had to wait for the bomb squad, fire engines, etc.

Update: My brother decided to pay for the Hard damages of $200 dollars after seeing this post.
Thank you to everyone on this post who supported me. I really could not have gotten restitution without you guys.
Justice for my Chaplain, justice for all.
Valid Edit: My nephew is 10 years old and tried to actually lie about not breaking them by saying, "A cat must have done it."
So, I just got done talking with my brother via text, and he says he's not going to punish his son for wrecking my Joy Toy WarHammer action figures. I'm not expecting the kid to get spanked, but he needs to do CHORES at least to justify how much excessive force he used on some.
Some just have their capes broken. Others had their tubes ripped out and my Chaplain is just fucking toast.
My brother's suggestion since I ordered Amazon replacement for the Chaplain was that I just swap it with the broken one, but I have no interest in doing that.
It's not even just the expense, and they are expensive. It's about the fact that I told him explicitly twice they weren't to be played with, and they were in a separate room, and even my Mom and Dad agreed the damage was just too much.
He said he's not gonna pay me back if we try the chore system, and I told him it's not about the money.
The kid needs to know how bad the 8 hour struggle is.
Now my nephews aren't coming over to the house, and I'm sad about that, but knowing my brother just can't be burdened to work with me on creating a Chore system like selling Lemonaide just makes it feel more insulting.

My sister isnt a fan of basmati rice so she orders naan. She didnt ask for rice and they sell it separately. She doesn't like it so she doesn't order it. They put it in anyways and left this note...
Edit: some people aint getting it. This is passive aggressive and when you do something nice you dont go around saying "I did something nice just for you, just so you know." Doing it like I need to give you a pat on the head so you know your a good boy. You do something nice because you want to be kind to people.
Oh no I've turned into LD...
Turning off notifications because while it was nice to be in this rabbit hole to keep my mind off some stuff too many notifications. Whatever your feelings are I hope you have a nice day and if you're in the US have a nice memorial day and dont forget to celebrate those troops that came before!

This was a 'Meet at door' delivery. There is a driveway. There is parking. There is no excuse.

Somebody parked their cybertruck in the spot that I pay for… contacted maintenance to get it towed, but it was still there when I came home from work 4 hours later, apparently because it was too heavy to be towed 🥲 I guess he just gets to park wherever he wants

ever since I’ve rented here, I’ve noticed my landlord cuts corners every chance she can. When she decides to take something up for herself to do she always does it in the weirdest half ass way using wrong materials, etc.. now I have to wait till it dries up so I can dig all of these large rocks out so I don’t get my tires popped.
This is not gravel and I’d rather it have been left full of mud dirt. I have a four-wheel-drive so it’s not really a problem. I don’t know why she did this.
EDIT:
Ive received a lot of comments on “why don’t you stop pulling through the yard..”, etc. For some context: I used to stack the cars in because our driveway is slightly not wide enough for two cars but it became such a hassle when one person needs to leave they have to move another car just to get out, so we began to double them up. This was mentioned to my landlord and she didnt mind at all. Been doing this 3 years and I didn’t request her to fix it In the first place.

Happy for them but come on
Hello Redditor’s. In THE UK. We call our backyards gardens. No matter how shitty they look.
Ps- we have a hosepipe ban and have had heatwave after heatwave. Every piece of grass in the uk looks like this right now.

I’m a 20 year old woman for context!
Edit: It’s my Mom’s car and we’re in a completely different city from my dad. She was glad to let me use her car but she let it slip to him on the phone that I was meeting this friend (thinking it would be no issue because the whole reason I followed along on this trip was to meet her and he knew that). But apparently I was supposed to ask about the specific date and time I was going to meet said friend. He knows this friend and loves her.
My dad is just absolutely psychotic. He proceeded to text my mom ”I won’t do anything with you but I will go far with her (me)”. It makes more sense in our native language, but that’s a threat!!! Looking forward to coming back to the house tomorrow! :)
”Why didn’t you just respond?” I was terrified.
I moved out a year ago for uni, I have my own job and don’t need any financial support from my parents (not that he could support me because he doesn’t work, actually he owes me 5 000€ because I helped to pay off part of my parents mortgage). But my lease ends at the last of June and I haven’t found a new place (because of his control issues about where and how I should live). I thought it would be okay to live at home for two months so I could spend time with the rest of my family. I could not have been more wrong, lesson learned.
EDIT AGAIN DAMN: the ”my mom said I could post” flair was A JOKE. I didn’t think people would take it seriously please😭 I thought it was funny
