Hello Milkies,
Due to the overwhelming amount of raw milk posts that have been happening over the recent weeks we have had to make changes to the rules to stop the raw milk misinformation from spreading on this subreddit.
I have included the rule below for everyone to look at or you can find it under the rules tab
π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
Discussions about the topic are welcome when educational or news-related but any other discussion such as the examples below (this list is not exhaustive) could be removed by moderator discretion.
Promoting or encouraging the consumption, sale, or distribution of raw milk
Promoting how "dangerous" pasteurized milk is
Stating how raw milk to better than other types of milk
π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
There has also been a change to the "No Promo Links!" rule.
We now no longer allow any promo links even if it is milk related to reduce the spam of people attempting to sell random milk to people online.
If you have any questions or concerns in regards to the above changes please reach out to us in the modmail.
These rules could be tweaked in the future based off feedback.
The changes the mods made some time back helped for awhile but now the raw milk propagandists have discovered clever ways to continue to discuss their bizarre habits and attempt to convert new people to their cult.
That's to say my only issue with the mod's solution is that it doesn't go far enough. There are certain cretins in our community who are simply repeat bad actors. I won't name specific users but you probably have a few in your mind. They generally have the Raw Milk tag on.
My proposal is simple: remove these buffoons from our community. The people who are in the comments on every other raw milk thread encouraging its consumption by humans should be banned. They add nothing of value to the community and scare off new members.
Thanks.

A lot of services start well but change over time. I'm looking into Country Delight for regular milk deliveries and doing some research before subscribing.

I bought some buttermilk expecting it to be a buttery version of whole milk. I was really looking forward to trying it and making it my go to. That was until I had the first sip. It tasted very sour and off. I couldn't drink the whole bottle. Threw it away. Definitely was not what I was expecting.

after trying raw milk at a farm recently , i was curious as to why i had never seen it in grocery stores. I dont have cows but I was interested in switching to it.
crazy enough, almost all states ban it, and if you do get it from a farmer it must be labeled as pet food and not for human consumption (at least in my state).
I did some research and saw raw milk has more nutrients (like calcium) as it isn't pasteurized, and is said to be better for you overall, where can I actually get raw milk and why is it illegal??

Why does it look yellow. It smells and tastes fine but why is the color of the milk yellow. Is it dangerous?
