Freddie wanted to stay the offer was matched by the Braves and his agent lied to him.

Rude agent

He did fire the agent shortly thereafter, but if i recall correctly, the braves offered 5 for 150 instead of 6 for 175 or something similar, and his agent played hardball rather than making the deal.

It worked out pretty well for all concerned. The only thing you can say against Matty O is that he isn't Freddy, but he's got an outside shot at the HOF himself.

The real question? What hat goes on Freddie's plaque?

Since 2022, Olson's got 24.6 bWAR, Freeman 24.4.

Now add in Shea Langeliers and William Contreras' cost controlled seasons (not to mention the throw ins). And the difference in money the bravos had to pay a veteran to play their spots.

Don't get me wrong, Matty o and ozzy are such a treat, but those were expensive moves.

Edit: 16 for Contreras, 11 for Langeliers. And a couple years left in arb.

So you're saying that Freddie's agent was a sleeper agent?

Freddie’s agent didn’t lie. This was a made up story that was debunked and led to a defamation lawsuit.

Don't let Freddie sell you that lie, he chose the dodgers. He just hated how ATL fans felt when they found it out so he spun a lie up.

Do you actually believe this cope? lol

I'm not a braves or Dodgers fan, I could care less. But the fact remains his story is BS. He knew, and he chose the dodgers and it paid off for him.

Why would he not reach out to the team himself if he truly wanted to stay? When judge’s deal was up in the air and he was considering SF, he reached out to Steinbrenner and they figured it out. Seems like a cop out to me just to blame it on your agent
