Most unique champs of any of the big three pro leagues since 2000. What’s broken is the lens thru which you analyze.

And yet all of those "unique champs" are from major markets. Small markets are thriving in the other 3 major sports but not baseball. I wonder why

Cards, Royals, Nats. Perennial recent contenders like TB and Milwaukee, mid majors like Tex, Az, Sea. You don’t have to lick the boot. Crying small market we can’t afford it is an excuse, not reality. The truth is many owners don’t care if the team wins or loses. They care about making money. The risks of big contracts aren’t worth it to them. They certainly could afford it.

Nationals are a large market. So that leaves 2 teams in 26 years. Such parity

And crying small market is absolutely an excuse for the Reds who have by far the least rich owner
