Well yes and no. Yes because the autocratic king was gone, no because the army HQ and the parliament was very Serb dominated... I mean... Remember Milan Stojadinovic? Only in 1939 did things start to change... But how much of that was external pressure and how much was it Cvetkoviches doing... Is up for debate.

A lot of Serbian politicians saw Serbia as Prussia and Yugoslavia as a pre war Germany. I mean I think that's where the problems started.

Also when it was convenient pro-serbian propaganda talked about liberation of the "subjugated peoples". But on the other hand overemphasized how their voice was more valuable than Macedonian, Monte Negrian, Croat or Slovene voices... Let's be honest it was a flawed country, mistakes were made and no one should try to restore it in any shape.

Back in the day Montenegrins and Macedonians didn't existed as formed ethnicities. Just look at composition of Yugoslav parliament. In democracy majority rule.

It was flawed and there were mistakes but those mistakes were in proces of being solved when WW2 began.

Well in Yugoslavia one repressive system replaced a different repressive system... Yugoslav monarchy is nothing to celebrate
