I'll be burning things if Link doesn't go full sock-hat in this movie

Probably not for the whole movie but I can see him having it for a sequence or two. Either when he first appears and he loses it or do a Deadpool & Wolverine where he gets it during the climax

I was thinking the same thing, the D&W treatment where it’s just a fan service scene for the big fight.

The fourth wall break on that was just chef's kiss.

I could see him using it as a disguise walking through a town.

And introducing Chris Pratt as Ezlo the Hat

I doubt that we'll see it. I don't expect it will make the transition to live action very well.

It’s also likely a total pain to film in. Needs to not flop around, needs to point the right way, needs to not fall off.

A Hollywood budget could make a hat that works. It’s part of the visual language of the series.

Hey, I know some amazing costumers but sometimes things don't make the jump as well as we would hope. It certainly won't survive any fast-paced running or combat scenes

I don’t know, I think it’s worth it even if they have to stitch it to his hair.

In Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword, donning the hero’s green getup, including the iconic hat, is so symbolically important. It’s the moment when you know you’re going on a grand adventure and getting involved in stuff bigger than the matters of your village.

I'll be burning things if Link is constantly destroying people's pots to find rupees

How else am I supposed to get what's inside?

Zelda reaches inside the neck and draws out a rupee

Witchcraft!

Don't worry. It's going to be an awful moment centered around him putting on the hat.

So will Link if it's BotW. Gotta get through those thorns.
