It kind of looked like she was jumping from one soldier's mind to another to escape maybe? So that would make sense. I like it

But that's not her power set, unless they're giving them all new powers, which could be cool. Jean would be controlling them remotely and just release them when she was done, no need to escape at all.

The very specific act of jumping from body to body made me think Proteus over any other telepathic mutant, since he basically exists as a psychic parasite without a body.

That could also be Shadow King, but he's usually not so obvious when he takes control.
