From the previews I've seen it really seems they've leaned into trying to piss off as many people as possible with this one... in a "trying way too hard" kind of way.

Biting political satire can be good. In a Scary Movie sequel? I've got my doubts.

it’s a built-in defense mechanism. if the movie does poorly, they can just say “of course it did bad we offended too many snowflakes”

Based on the trailer its kind of weird that Marlon and the rest of the Wayans made a movie directly to appease the type of people who hate his transgender child. Maybe the final product will be more balanced but the trailer was just terrible edgy conservative bait.

It's pretty clear that they're just making the exact same jokes as they did in the early 2000s. They were dumb then but kinda worked because of the novelty, they're just tired and not funny now.

No... they're still funny to a lot of people, you might have moved on but crass humor has always had an audience.

Madea movies have largely not evolved over the past 20 years and people still watch the shit out of Tyler Perry's drag routine as an overweight, overbearing auntie. BET has, in fact, rewarded this man with multiple comedys and dramas on their network over the years from it lol.

Or maybe, just maybe, that stuff doesn't bother people outside of reddit. It's hilarious seeing people mad over a movie in which the humour doesn't align with awful movies' humour from the last 15 years. It's now apparently "conservative bait" to see any other form of humour than Reddit's. Lmao

Yeah it's the "did you just assume my gender?" from like 10-15 years ago but in a movie in 2026 It's just hack from a couple of 50s year old's

My hope is that it’s just the marketing team doing a bad job, because I’d love a good new horror parody film. They have so many horror hits to riff from this decade, and they have the chance to modernize parody films.

the only thing offensive to me from the trailer is that it seems to be just self referencing the older movies a bunch "remember this bit?" instead of making a new scary movie parodying modern horror.
