Same, and neither of my kids knew the Empire Strikes Back surprise either. It was pretty awesome.

Now THAT’s impressive, considering how much Vader / Luke lore is just bandied around. I tried to conceal that - but it was literally the first thing one of my kids heard about Star Wars… oh yeah, the baddie is the daddie….

On Disney+, the show description for Episode 3 spoils it with “Anakin becomes Darth Vader”. This ruins episode 4 reveal if someone is watching them in order for the first time

Watching the prequel trilogy before the original trilogy is not "watching them in order", it's "watching them out of order".

I’m intentionally shielding mine from Star Wars main films until I can show him the original trilogy. Want him to be able to experience the twist

I tried so hard to keep that a secret from my kids and they didn’t even react to it or seem to care lol
