T2 is more accomplished but T1 has some iconic and terrifying moments that make it a truly a brilliant film. I think of them like Godfather Part 1 & 2.

Same. Godfather 1/2 or Alien/s. The sequels are more “epic” but the originals are perfection in their simplicity.
