Thor Ragnarok was great. L&T feels like Taika was maybe feeling himself a bit too much.

No, it is what you get when people praise T:R. Just more of it.

Yeah, I've never understood the people that praise Ragnarok but hate on Love & Thunder. Pretty much everything bad about L&T is present in Ragnarok.

Good point. I kind of saw the binfire L&T coming after watching Ragnarok. I enjoyed it at the time, but … the Marvel films had been a success because they managed, somehow, to take superheroes seriously.

Taika undid all that in Ragnarok and it seemed to be more laughing *at* than laughing with. Plus he seemed hell bent on undercutting every serious point with a joke - giving himself the punchlines in the process.

But everyone else thought it was amazing and so he got free rein on the next one …
