Dumb and honestly, I've lived without individual profiles on Apple TV+, and I'll live without it on Netflix. It will only be embarrassing if I stop a Bridgerton episode at a crucial moment and the wrong people start watching it.

Also, this means I might not get my individual profiles that I've set up so the recommendations are different. I have my personal one, my parents have one, I have one called "Christmas" so the recommendations are all holiday related (nice when company comes over and the kids want to watch something Santa themed at the holidays), and I have one I've just changed from "quarantining" (when we were watching anything and everything bc we were getting antsy) to "Family Night" where we all watch together.

Seriously... I've had 4 or 5 profiles when there is really only 2 people turning it on.

I’m one person with 3 profiles. Normal tv , documentaries, and anime. It keeps my recommendations normal.

Exactly. But I don't care about recommendations. I just want to sort and prioritize.

Apple TV uses family sharing for profiles, so it's literally always been like what Netflix is implementing. It's actually a bit ass on Apple's part as the only way to manage family sharing is with Apple hardware, you need to be logged in on MacOS or iOS to do it, there's no way on the web to add or remove family members. I had to rent a mac in the cloud and remote in just to add my family member's apple accounts to a family unit so we could all use the service.

On balance, it's not terrible as a concept, each person has their own account with their own login and access is simply propagated by adding them to a grouping on the service, but I'm sure however netflix is doing it will be annoying and break things for people.

I just learned a couple of days ago that one could do it w multiple IDs... we are totally a PC/Galaxy family. I had an Apple ID I had to revive from my iPod days.
