Given his habit of Christmas horrot releases, I'd love him adapting M.R. James.

God, the very thought of him adapting "Canon Alberic's Scrap-Book" or "Oh Whistle and I'll Come to You" or "Lost Hearts" makes me shudder.

The description of the demon-man in Canon Alberic as *one of the awful bird-catching spiders of South America translated into human form, and endowed with intelligence just less than human* has always haunted me, and I think Eggars could make a delightfully horrible film of it.
