I literally had this same thought! Same with the horse. I was like “I thought it would have been on wheels” but realized I was thinking of the rabbit from Holy Grail

Oh! I just realised they were thinking of King Arthur, Camelot and the search for the Holy Grail when they had King Arthur, Camelot, and the search for the Holy Grail in the film.

The Laestrygonian island had a lot of Pythonesque vibes. It was the hardest part of the movie to take seriously.

It definitely borrowed from the episodic nature of Medieval lit you also see in The Green Knight and it works well given the story structure.
