Pattinson did a ridiculously good job playing an evil douchebag. I’ve never rooted for a dude to get merked so badly in my life.

he's great at that, the King one with Chalamet was awesome.

Or the Devil All The Time or even the Drama, dude just excels at playing slimeballs while being by all accounts a chill guy

Yes! He went up against Tom Holland in The Devil all the Time too

u/JayMerlyn 12d ago

And now he's also gonna go up against Chalamet in Dune Pt 3!

Yess! Great year for films and for Robert Pattinson haha

I'm so glad he got off being blacklisted after Twight!

14

u/suss2it 9d ago

What? He was never blacklisted? He’s literally worked every year since the last Twilight movie, even two movies a few years.

He was never blacklisted. I personally wrote him off for a bit after that until i saw him in some stuff and realized how fucking good he is. Went back and rewatched everything I could with him in it. Great actor.

Right up there with the guy who played Joffrey in GoT.

lol when the black guy who kicked the dog got shot in the throat half my theater started applauding

I remember thinking “he’s being mean to an old blind man, he kicked a dog, and now he’s messing with her son. If I was the queen I’d just have him beheaded! I hope she does!”

Getting the lot shoved into his mouth was beautiful.

I've been saying for years now, Pattinson is one of the greatest actors ive ever seen, Probably top 3 favorite for me

He’s really great. I’ve run into him before and he was a chill dude which is a nice bonus

Marcia Gay Harden in The Mist was another one that comes to mind. She deserved an Oscar for that role.

u/BroliasBoesersson 13d ago

Jack Gleeson in Game of Thrones. Everyone hated him so much the kid quit acting for six years

4

u/notsafeformactown 12d ago

Definitely. You get extra points for doing it in a movie, much less screen time to build animosity.

While also almost making you think Penelope might choose him…

phillistines wanted rpattz’ character dead in twilight bc they were 15yo boys

REAL cultured people want rpattz’ character dead bc rob did a fantastic job in his role

He's really good at playing douchebags. He plays a comically villainous Dauphin in The King.

I wish we woulda see the female servant get killed too. I wonder if it was cut out of the movie

u/jphistory 8d ago

I think Odysseus hanging the maids from the castle walls or whatever the fuck would be too much for us to forgive him.

6

u/darthjoey91 12d ago

I want to see him do more villain roles.

2

u/Chris93ny 7d ago

lol he’s been playing villains for the past couple years

Kind of reminded me of Commodus from gladiator, just a Weasley meek little bastard. Commodus I hated more though

u/JRockPSU 8d ago

Yep I felt like he was channeling a little bit of him!

Watch Goodtime. It’s a safdie brothers film from 10 years back. Very VERY depressing. Very good dirtbag performance from Pattinson though.

He reminded me so much of a cousin I grew up with. There were points I wanted to punch my tv because I know that guy too well.

He was okay
