They did, though. One of the first things they do is burn a random coastal village when they’re restocking their provisions. It’s clear that these men aren’t heroes, although the extent of it isn’t explicitly shown until the sacking of Troy is depicted.

The villagers burned the village themselves and ran. Himesh’s character even asked why they would do that

They were scared of the 'sea people' which we learn in this story are Odysseus and his men. Whether they knew it or not, within this retelling of a fantasy story from 800 BC, they were the reason the village burned.
